We'll place important info about bugs and other AEE issues here

1. First make sure that AUTO_SAVE option in preferences file (preferences folder) in main RTW/AEE folder is changed. Should be AUTO_SAVE:FALSE.
If you don't do it saved games will be buggy and I won't fix anyting.


2. Set compatibility mode in your shortcut of AEE - Compatibility mode should be set to "XP and Service Pack" AEE should work without "compatibility mode on 64bit systems.

3. Possible problems:

- hardware problems (I need to know),
- sound files (will be checked),
- descr_formations, descr_formations_ai,
-...

THE LIST OF STUFF FIXED

1. Italian Cavalry issue (battle) - missing records in script files
2. Daunian Skirmishers (battle) - (point 1)
3. ...


THE LIST OF STUFF THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE

1. Legion Imitations skins (Armenia, Pontic, Numidia...) must be remapped.
2. Unit Cards display issue
3. ...
4. ...
5. Text files (building descriptions) must be done in more indicative way (what can be built next, guides, clues, etc. - helping hand is needed)

I. Set up worked well. It took me less than 50 minutes to download the setup file using a cable modem.

II. I could live without the starting script frankly. I'll decide who and what to attack, thank you very much!!!!


III. Played an entire turn plus fought an on-map battle against the Samnites. I then turned off FOW and watched the game go through an entire turn for the other factions and advance to the next turn. No problems.


(I'm going to proceed with the game using the money and building cheats so I can see if all the building/unit descriptions are done.)

I'll let you know how things are going.

(The 'look' is fantastic BTW.)

Got a CTD when I clicked on the Siege Engineer building.

Going to try to replicate the problem.


Edit: Yeah....going to take a look at the Siege Engineer description. Also, I've noted that quite a few of the buildings do not have pictures on the Building Description page....just a blank space.

For whatever reason right-clicking on the siege engineer building causes a CTD. So far, this has not happened with any other building.

Okay, Limes, I have completed the building tree for Rome and other than the siege engineer problem, everything else seems okay.

I also built out Capua to the point of getting the siege engineer built and was again rewarded with a CTD when right-clicking.

I don't have a clue what that's about!

Okay. I've played through 20 turns...down to 275 BC...with no problems other than the CTD when trying to read the siege engineer description.

I'll give some thought tomorrow about descriptions for the building sand units I've noted this far.

Whatever happened with the walls? Or does that start at level 3.

1. Siege engineer CTD is known RTW issue. So far, there is no fix for this problem.

2. What's up with the walls? Roman walls, Gaul walls?

2. So far I've only taken Corfinium, Paestum and Arretium. None had more than a level 2 wall and they looked the same as RTW. Is that what you intended?


I did turn off fow and take a look around the map. Looks really good. Are there land bridges between Italy/Sicily or across the Bosphorus?

I think so. They've got wooden walls.

Ad. 3
There is land bridge between Peloponesus and Greece (Corinthian Pass). No land bridge between Sicily and Italy. The same with Bosphorus.

I deleted land bridges to increase strategic planning (logistics). I may always change this, but I need info info that it will boost game play.

Hang on to that building file, Limes. There may be a problem with it. All of a sudden I'm getting CTDs when advancing the turn.

I was too tired to look into it last night. I'll get on it now.

Unit and building description files are very delicate. In 1.6 version the smallest error makes troubles.

What CTD in which turn?

It's very hard to find errors in txt (binary) files. Simple coma in text may be trouble maker. Btw, I received export_unit file only.
What about Imperial Praefect? I can't find it.

What are you trying to accomplish with the Imperial Praefectura Praetoria? I know Sejanus was the proto-typical Praetorian Praefect but I'm not sure what relevance that post would have for the other factions.

What do you intend this to mean?

The problem may well have been an extra parentheses. Working on it now.
