it means tat your version of RTW/BI is slightly different. What is your version? (national language)

At first, great work. I played elysium beta a long time. Now the problem. I installed AAE the same way like my friend. I can start the game, play custom battles, start the campain but by trying to open the building window ctd. The same when i will end the first turn. I tried to reinstall for several times. I got the same pc specs as my friend, but xp-he got vista. He has no problems to play. This is the only different. I had never a problem to install any mod for rome. I got rome gold, german language. Hope you could help?

CRASH TO DESKTOP (Italian versions only)
This only affects the Italian version of Barbarian Invasion. The game crashes during a campaign around 256 BC, although this could happen under other conditions not yet detected. Download this file, by right-clicking the link and choosing save as, and put it in the following directory (over-write the file of the same name which is already there).

It may be reason of problems with your version.

Common problem with installation is that AEE files were not put into correct folders in original vanilla installation. AEE installer changed this, but I can't ensure that it works for every language specific version. It's enough your country providers changed original RTW game path and you could have problems.

AEE files should be located in Rome - Total War folder. There are many folders within Rome - Total War folder (bi, custom, saves, data, and others). AEE should be installed within data folder. This is fundamental principle. Only then AEE will work.

I just figured out why I was getting CTD when loading some battles against rebel factions. Problems were due to not properly loading textures. I then went through Description_Model_Battle and made sure that a texture was listed for each unit listed in Description_Rebel_Factions. Problem fixed. :D :'D Corrected DMB is attached.

One note for the future. It would be better to stamp any changes made in text files. It's easy to find sth like this:

I downloaded your file and deleted it from your post. I need to have order in "papers".

One thing MAJ Pain. Every change of text must have its explanation. I've checked first of your changes.

1. roman_funtidores doesn't need texture for slave faction ---> for instance merc balearic slingers is marked as mercenary_unit in EDU. If so, only merc texture is needed in DMB. Roman funtidores are not listed in descr_rebel_factions, so they doesn't need slave skin in DMB.

2. merc highlanders ---> the same, mercenary_unit in EDU needs merc skin and sprite in DMB. Slaves shouln't have separate skin and sprite in DMB.

3. It seems that most of changes are not needed :):).

There was few problems with multiple use of the same units for different factions. It's almost done in new version of AEE.

There was a mercenary texture called aor_galatia_infantry.tga, but the game was looking for aor_galatian_infantry.tga. That typo with the extra "n" caused CTD. So I copied/pasted the line and replaced "merc" with "slave" and it worked. I guess just keep it in mind if you run into the problem in the future. :)

In this case you're right. There is missing "slave" texture in DMB line: "aor_galatia_infantry".

In EDU "aor galatia swordsmen custom" has ownership "slave" and no "mercenary_unit" in attributes. So, here you're right my friend.

Good job. Next bug eliminated. Good hunting :). I'm waiting for more :):).

Ps. I'm checking all of your changes.

DMB - greek_hoplite_militia - good shot, too. :)

Hi.

News from line of battle.

Map is ready for 80%. I've made huge work with Asia terrain uplift. Thank to it I had to learn much about Iranian, Afghan mountains :). Beautiful countries. Every step was subject of methodological work. Trying to be historically accurate I spent a lot of time building terrain in a way that let us have historical trade hubs and routes (spice road, silk road), naval connections (Indus river is navigable now) etc.

I limited number of provinces that are allowed to recruit elephant based units. New resources: fish and spice were added.

I've remodded naval matters that are more coherent now. Port ---> Naval Arch1 ---> Shipwright ----> NavArch.2 ----> Dockyard ----> NavArch3 ----> PortMonument ----> NavArch4 ---->Great Dockyard. I'm still thinking about assigning naval units to particular naval structures, especially because I still haven't found the place for War Harbour and Naval Base. As you can see AEE has also new building - Great Dockyard. Next building is secret :)

I've added new ships to EDU. Player will get Transport Ships. I tried to find a way to limit of old ships' capacity and distinguish that way navy but it's impossible. Every vessel, that big and that small, can transport the same number of units. So in this case (I want have transport ship in AEE very much :) my main goal was "to find reasonable differences between transport and war ships". Acceptable enough, I think. Transport ships are cheaper and almost unarmed. They can be easily destroyed by enemy.
