WITHOUT IT GAME CRASH WHEN "END BUTTON" IS PRESSED http://dfiles.eu/files/q0ul0a7an Above links should be the only you will download AEE mod from. Placing AEE on other servers is prohibited without my agreement. Please inform me when you meet the link somewhere else. Table of Contents. I. How to install AEE. II. How to start the AEE. III. Reporting Issue Procedure. IV. Steam Version. **************************************************************************************** AEE works with both RTW editions. a) First edition - RTW (single CD) and separate Barbarian Invasion (BI) expansion pack (single CD) b) second edition - RTW Anthology with RTW, BI and Alexander on one DVD[/color] Ad. I. How to install AEE. 1. Install fresh copy of "Rome Total War" (RTW). 2. Install BI on top of your RTW install or in case of 3 in 1 version (RTW Anthology) install RTW and BI. You may install Alexander, too. It's likely it won't mess AEE, but I don't know for sure. 3. Install BI 1.6 Patch only when you've got RTW and BI on separate disks (RTW Anthology is upgraded already). It will upgrade RTW to 1.5 version and BI to 1.6 version. If not installed AEE campaign won't run. You can download BI 1.6 Patch on web. 4. Install Ancient Empires Elysium. Installer will make all things automatically. It will delete all map.rwm files. It will also create AEE shortcut on desktop and in Start Menu, so you don't need to do it by yourselves. 5. IMPORTANT NOTE: Open "preferences" file located in preferences folder in main RTW/AEE folder and change following line AUTO_SAVE:TRUE. Should be AUTO_SAVE:FALSE. AUTO SAVES option generates issues in RTW. Remember - should be AUTO_SAVE:FALSE. Without it your auto saved games may be corrupted and I won't fix anything. 6. Download AEE HOTFIX 1.3B Hotfix 1.3B http://dfiles.eu/files/q0ul0a7an 7. Unpack AEE HOTFIX 1.3B (zipped) and copy contents into your "Data" folder in main RTW/AEE directory. 8. Now, use the shortcut created by the installer on the Desktop or "Play AEE" in the Start Menu. II How to start the Ancient Empires Elysium You started campaign. Remember to initialize "Four turn per year script" (4tpy). 4tpy is present during whole game. Player have to run it when he starts to play AEE. In case of all factions script will change date system. Each year will be divided into four. For instance year 280 bc will last four turns. Then, date will be changed into 279 bc, etc, etc. When you play as Roman faction (only Romans) script is different. It's kind of show that will introduce military and historical situation of Rome in 280 bc. Script must be started in the very beginning of AEE and then it will work once. It won't work second time even when you start new campaign. If you want to give the script one more go you must quit game and then start it anew. In all cases when you continue saved game script will be started by left click on player's town, city, etc, etc. and pressing small black button in advisor pop-up. III. Reporting Issue Procedure 1. Check your software. 2. Check your AEE install. 2. Please post info about your operation system (Windows XP, Vista 32/64 bit, Win7. The best way is editing your signature. *If you are using Windows Vista and sth goes wrong edit the shortcut to turn on/off Compatibility Mode. *If you are using Windows 7 edit the shortcut to turn on/off Compatibility Mode. IV. ****Steam Version***** If Rome is already installed, right click on it in My Games and click "Delete Local Content" and re-download the game. No patching is necessary for Steam users because you will download the latest version. I have used the Gold edition with Alexander with no problems ![]() Make sure you right click the game and select "Backup game files" before running the installer in order to make upgrading to future versions of AEE easy When choosing install folder go to Steam -> Steam Apps -> Common Select "Rome Total War Gold". Delete "Rome - Total War" at end of file path name. Basically, check to make sure the install path does not say "Rome Total War Gold/Rome - Total War". EX: D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\rome total war gold Now right click the game and click properties->set launch options. Now type in -mod: and click OK. To launch the game right click and select Launch BI. -MAJ Pain Edited by limes, Dec 5 2015, 10:54 AM.

Installer is Ready to Roll! ... minus some polish Things I need for installer Text: License AEE.txt - text file giving credit to all other mods used within AEE; team member credits; anything you want to add, famous words of wisdom etc. Graphics: AEE.ico - icon for exe file, artwork in installer, shortcut on desktop, shortcut in start menu AEEheader.bmp - header image that goes across top of window - must be bitmap file 150x57 pixels in size; tell me if you want it justified to right or left-default is left AEEwin.bmp - Image that goes on the Welcome and Finish pages(Reusing for unistaller as well) - must be bitmap file 164x314 pixels in size, goes on left-hand side Most important part is source files in proper directory structure - installer will overwrite any filename conflicts without prompt best thing is to put files in their respective folders, then zip it making sure to retain folder structure I'll look at it and write the proper code and AEE will be ready for release !!!!! |

like I said, you can mess around with the theme, but it might not be worth it because it depends on the user's Windows settings. The more fancy the code gets the slower and bigger the installer gets as well ![]() 4.9.14.15 SetCtlColors hwnd [/BRANDING] [text_color] [transparent|bg_color] Sets a background color and the text color for a static control, edit control, button or a dialog. text_color and bg_color don't accept variables. Use GetDlgItem to get the handle (HWND) of the control. To make the control transparent specify "transparent" as the background color value. You can also specify /BRANDING with or without text color and background color to make the control completely gray (or any other color you choose). This is used by the branding text control in the MUI. example: FindWindow $0 "#32770" "" $HWNDPARENT GetDlgItem $0 $0 1006 SetCtlColors $0 0xFF0000 0x00FF00 from http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Docs/Chapter4.html#4.7 |

A good point, Maj. I have Windows 7 and there was a "compatibility problem " with RTW-BI, However, Win 7 also has a compatibility tool which fixed the problem. Something to keep in mind for the inevitable troubleshooting questions which may arise, Limes. |

@ Thanks PatS MAJ Pain. I prepared installer via your script. Everything seems to be alright besides two things: 1. installer doesn't delete map.rwm files 2. missing " in shortcut path prevents starting the game. I fixed second problem. I need complete script lines that will "delete map.rwm" files in data/world/maps/base and data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign. I don't have time for experiments, especially I'm not programmer :). I tried to script it but it's enough to change order of argument in script and it won't work. Final info: AEE installer: ca 370 mb with intro Install time: very very fast installer Nice and easy :). Edited by limes, Oct 22 2009, 01:21 AM.

Go to the installer section and find the comment ";Files to Delete" and replace "Delete delete.txt" with this: ;Files to Delete SetOutPath "$INSTDIR\data\world\maps\base" Delete map.rwm SetOutPath "$INSTDIR\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" Delete map.rwm I'm assuming that the installer is set to use "Rome - Total War" as the root directory. |

MAJ Pain. Is there any way to run campaign_reset_map.bat automatically instead of delete files via SetOutPath "$INSTDIR\data\world\maps\base" Delete map.rwm SetOutPath "$INSTDIR\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" Delete map.rwm ? |
