AEE Progress; Things to be done

AEE: Great Campaign Progress

Like in title. Installer is ready. Needs to be fixed by adding new fixes. Below list of things definitely done. To be frank this list is more for me than you :). It's easier to control progress of my work here than still looking for docs progress is written. Although, by this I would like to show you size of work done on AEE :)


- Fire/expolsion mod (fiery arrows, ballista bolts, scorpio bolts)/2008
- flammable wodden walls/2009
- AEE map/ 2008-2009
- navigable rivers/2008 (more rivers in future release)
- new environment (3d trees, grass, flowers, bushes, etc.)/2008-2009
- bigger and more detailed ground textures/2008
- winter grass/08.2009
- climate modded/08.2009
- loading screens (all screens were put on new background)/03.10.2009
- 2d art menu, maps showing starting position of every faction/01-02.2009
- faction symbols: menu 48, 24; 128 for loading screens, interface-packs/2008-2009
- AEE movie intro/28.09.2009
- code EDB (fixes to reform and recruitment system)/02.10.2009
- code Desr_strat/02.10.2009
- script 4tpy: starting script, date format "turns" changed back to BC, AD/01.10.2009
- names of legions 2008
- names of early legion. Hastati, principes, triarii, velites has its number of maniple and cohort and info about place of recruitment/06-07.2009
- inner AEE code records - 100%

Newest Fixes.

- unit descriptions (Spart)

- ... to be continued

Things almost finished (98-99 %)

- battle standards (2-3 2d art)
- 3d models (2-3 models for roman archers and imperial praetorians, 1-2 fixes of existing models),
- skins (5-6)
- wall segment (joiner must be turned 90 degrees),
- historical battles,
- eastern interface,

Overall: 98 % is done


AEE Beta Released


Noticed shortage:

- Roman Banner fixed (black line on banner),
- Preferences file edited. Should be "AUTO_SAVE:FALSE",
- Hastati low model fixed, new sprites, (Gorby report),
...
...

Get ready men!!!

(pre-release notes)

I've decided to release AEE "as is" because I don't want you to wait anymore. From the other hand I'm too tired to test it all and spend more time for fixes before AEE is released. You'll test it my friends.

AEE team is small, so all changes all creations takes time. Without Spart and MAJ Pain AEE would be still ZIP pack without good text stuff :). Thanks friends for your work. I would like to thank my mother and father, because without them all these things wouldn't be possible. Hahahaha. Mybe in the feature new members will help me more with graphical stuff like new skins.

Last changes like Traits&Ancillaries System (RRS), active Slave faction with different units in different AOR was not fully tested. They may generate ctd. Not all skins are done, few wall segments in bigger Gaulish walls have stone texture.

I will wait for more information from you, knowing that you're content enough, I hope :).

AEE will be uploaded today or tomorrow. It depends on web traffic.

Ps. New AEE environment including vegetations, skies, effects, etc. will be implemented in AEE2 or AEE patches.
All problems will be patched from time to time.

Haha. I'm just compiling new installer. I've been making file sorting in a hurry, so AEE may not start at all :):).

Wait a minute. I have to install fresh compiled installer and check whether it works.

I hope so. I've just finished last fixes to AEE Intro. Now, I'm making installer with new stuff. I have to check new installer on fresh copy of RTW and then...

It's the day :D

I've got a feeling it's not the best time for release, because I've surely made a lot of errors trying to improve AEE. It's just PARADOX. You want to make sth better and finally you make it worse. Hehe. I hope it will work.

REMEBER - present AEE is beta version.

Any ideas?

I tried depositfiles because it worked well, although site hosted AEE for a month or so.

Hi friends! :D
I guess I returned to civilization just in time :'D I'm glad I'll get to take AEE with me to Afghanistan. There would be no way I could download it over there. Now I'll have AEE to make spare time go by. Limes, Spart, and everyone else - you guys made my day for a whole year :D

Good to see you back MAJ Pain. I'm glad AEE will have direct transportation to Afghanistan. Check Khyber Pass on AEE map. Installer works perfectly my friend.
