I'm less annoyed about siege warfare than the fact that they all look so similar. I.e., no city is ever built alongside a river, no city ever has a citadel on high ground, no city ever has any kind of moat to prevent siege engines from approaching the walls, etc. Sieges get boring after a while....which is why I always put the onagers back in and just blast a hole in the wall wherever I want and get it over as fast as possible! |

Removing the walls entirely brings more interesting oppurtunities to the battle. More like a field battle. |

I agree but would a small garrison even try to hold an undefended town? Some of the best battles I've ever had were where I had a relatively small force on a wall and held against a much larger enemy. Archers on a wall shooting at light troops are devastating. |

Sure, you have to re-mod the game. Go through the strat file and delete walls for those towns you don't want to have them. Then, set up a condition in the EDB file so that those factions cannot build the first level of walls. That ought to do it. Why not at least see what Limes' new walls look like though? |

I agree on seeing the new walls, its just that I`we played the game like 1 000 000 times before, and want it a little different:9 What is the EDB file? I know about the strat file. Thank you for your answers btw. |

Hehe. Very nice request. The most complicated and time consuming occupation was making of new walls for Gauls. And now you say that walls are 'passe'. Thank you very much :):). And serious. I like walls. Walls are historically justified part of planning strategy, tactics and military operation. Without walls planning in player's strategy would stand have only on one feet. To get any small city you'll need military advantage 3-5:1. For any commander luck is important, but luck in have to be result of planning. Besides, AEE has big map. Units movement is limited. It's important for small factions not to be blitzkrieg-ed. Moreover, like Spart said. It's full of taste to defend city by use of small garrison against big army. I'll try to take few walls from descr_strat, but I won't do this from EDB. Walls will be available, but more expensive. You can disable wall building by putting { none, } in export descr building wooden_pallisade requires factions { none, } and of course, like Spart said take it out form descr_strat.
