Who are your favorite authors?

Oooh there's a toughie....

I'd have to say it's a toss up between;

Arthur C Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, David Brin, JRR tolkien, Timothy Zahn, and CJ Cherryh, and whoever wrote Battle Angel Alita

Ooh, good list! Two of my favorite books are written by Bradbury, four by tolkien, many by asimov. So I approve. If you mean the manga, I believe Battle Angel Alita was written by Yukito Kushiro. I've heard talk of making a CG film version, with James Cameron directing.

Yup that do be the one :)

What's really amazing on the movie cameron would like to do is that in an interview he's aiming for a PG-13 rating with it.

Big directors almost always do if they are filming something in a "kid" genre- anime, fantasy, or science fiction par example- and it usually ends up badly. I kind of squirmed for the same reason when I heard that Golden Compass had a PG13 rating, because it meant they had obviously changed or omitted the ending.

I haven't read the golden compass series yet so I don't know how the first book compares to the movie...

But I was really surprised at that announcement as the guy who draws Battle angel is very accurate and detailed- and there are quite a few of really violent scenes.

If I remember correctly I think cameron said something along the lines that since they'll be using robot bodies and oil instead of blood and guts that they'll be able to get a PG-13 rating.

but ya crossing my fingers on it.

Nope I don't really care for coffee...

altho the one piece of a cake that was made primarily from coffee beans was extremely good.

Some coffee smells I like, and some types just are annoying. the annoying ones are the ones from the vending machines usually.
I have no idea how to differentiate them tho.

Well, it ends with a rather violent child sacrifice. Instead in the movie, the end things by getting you all attached to the little buggers. Total Ewok Special syndrome.
