I'm just glad I don't fish the marks where you test your braids
That's the only reason I don't use braid the last thing I would want to do is
Feck the mark where I fish or any one else's to dead braid line
How long would it take to clear days, weeks, or years?????? :(

A good point Stav, but I used to lose around 2-3 rigs, leaders, some 24lb line every trip on the reef I fish, since putting braid on last year, not lost any tackle!!!...trashed a few hooks/leads mind

So I feel I'm actually improving my local spot :D

And I have found that if you use a mono leader and pull for a break you snap right at the leader knot. The pressure from the braid part of the knot cuts right through the mono part.
I used to be conceited, but that was before I became Perfect.

I tried the braid shock leaders out again last night and I'm at a loss as to why I gave up on them. They load the rod better, the knot just flies through the rings resulting in a better launch. Had no trouble with wind knots when lifting a fish up the pier.
Only question mark is its abrasion resistance if you use them on the beach.

I was thinking the same thing. The annual braid debut!

Speak to any of the top and most experienced channel shore anglers, do they use braid as a main line, no they don't.

I can think of numerous occasions when I have witnessed anglers ruining marks snapping off their braid. And have cleared many a snag including from the area around clevedon pier, black rock, ladye bay and battery point that contains large quantities of braid.

i can see the benefits of braid on clean marks, but on rough ground would not touch it with a barge pole,as said leaving loads of lost braid on a mark could make it unfishable <_<
only when the last tree has been cut down, the last river has been poisoned, and the last fish has been caught, then man will find he cannot eat money.

conger or sole please,either way,i don't mind
