You really have to watch what your looking at on Ebay Andy - a lot of the bait being offered for sale is "Preserved" bait - sealed in a packet with a preservative added to give it a longer shelf life - it will occasionally catch a fish but is generally not very effective as a bait - there are also "Peeler Crab" baits being offered which are nothing short of crab paste - they are just a mush of crab that no amount of bait elastic will keep it on your hook - there are a few bait suppliers on Ebay that are reputed to supply the real deal but a lot of what is on offer is rubbish - I don't think you can beat a visit to your local tackle shop or supermarket (A lot of them now have fish counters) and actually seeing what your getting - if something don't look right you have the chance to refuse it - if it comes through the post and is rubbish you have a long and tedious process to try and get your money back - even some of the on-line bait companies are a bit of a risk - your order only has to go adrift for a day and you could end up with some unusable bait and then a lot of phone calls and wrangling to sort it out - if your spending £20 to £30 on bait I think you would be better off going to shop and seeing what your getting every time mate - hope this helps you. |

Salt water doesn't taste the same as the fish that swim in it! If you don't need it - put the damn thing back
