Does anyone know of a decent casting instructor in an around the Bristol Channel area that I could be put in touch with?....I live in Clevedon can travel and am looking to 'upgrade' my casting skills... I invested in a Penn PPT Sidewinder Evo 1 and a 525 Mag about 4yrs ago and then went on a 4yr break from shore fishing??? My first multi and a stiffer style rod and I reckon my technique could be improved to get better results. Any suggestions would be appreciated....Cheers |

There was a big advert in sea angler a while back I may have that copy still I will have a look for you and post up names and numbers, providing I still have it. One of the best investments you can make. You can read articles watch videos etc, but sometimes you do things you dont notice and this is where tuition helps, irons out those issues. |

Ok but they might be able to help someone cast tho. Appleman why not phone up veals and ask for steve ace and he should be able to put you in contact with someone who can help you improve your casting, why not ask for rodney's phone number the last i heard he was living in bath, but that aint to far away tho. Dont know if rodney is still teaching but i do know he USE to be a casting instuctor, and he use to do the back cast was his favorite cast, then the pendulum cast..or type into google for rodney carter. zippyyyyyyyyyyyy roker to answer your question.i might be able to cast but im not a casting instructor, most ppl can hep one another to cast, but the best help would be from a insructor. |

As I feared I have got rid of that magazine with the list of casting instructors. May be worth you contacting Sea Angler, they may have that back issue still available as a suggestion. There were quite a few instructors in the area when the advert was published. I had a lesson from a guy in Bristol, we went to whitchurch sports centre, there is a huge field where we practiced. Cost me about £30 for about 4 hours if i recall. |
