To spend more time fishing the "rougher" more challenging marks and to keep on learning.

To get the wife to understand that I get no pleasure from fishing. To me it is like washing up and cooking for her, just another chore that has to be done to keep the odd fish to feed the family and to allow her sometime on her own to think 'what women think'. She seems to think I get some sort of pleasure from standing out in the cold trying to catch fish. There seems to be such a different between the sexes and our understanding of each other!

John

PS Am I being unreasonable to expect a freshly cooked meal on my return from a trip even if it is in the middle of the night and I have to wake her to cook it, and by the time she has finished I'm too tired to eat it or need to get some sleep before the next trip and it has to be thrown away in the bin, she seems to think so........ as I said there is such a difference..........

a smooth hound from sand point over 10lbs.

Hadn't realised smoothies could be caught off Sand Point, so that's another ambition for 2009 then!

What bait/rig would you guys recommend, crab/ squid on a pulley pennel?

Just think, what if they took a fly...... :D :D :D

Hi Bick.
I think the best bait for the smooth hounds will be crab, either live hardbacks or live peelers would be thje best bait for them smooth hounds.
Its just a shame that sand point a nitemare of a walk to fish.

To spend some time fishing with new mates and old ones. Accompanied by some single malt or good quality scrumpy would be a bonus. Never mind the fish they're just a good bonus, the company means more.
Had a dangle now.
