Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

Brisk morning air crept across D'lev's back, bringing him awake abruptly. "Arggh," he groaned softly as a the beginnings of a headache throbbed in the back of his head. The man scrubbed one hand over his face, as if to banish his impending doom. Someone stirred in the bed next to him, rolling over in their sleep. D'lev looked over and grinned, apparently he'd been successful in picking up the handsome bluerider he'd chatted up at the Turn's End gather. Now if only he could remember what had happened after they had left together.

Good morning, Mine! Imith greeted him, her tone oddly loud and close by. Or maybe that was just the effect of his hangover? Sudden movement caught his eye and the greenrider groaned again. "Imith!" D'lev scolded her as harshly as he could with a whisper. He didn't feel like there was room in his head for speech at the moment. "What are you doing!"

The green had wriggled her way back into his sleeping room, although it couldn't have been an easy task for her. It looked like her hips were wedged in the doorway, and D'lev fervently hoped she wasn't stuck. "Imith, we've been over this," He said irritably, still whispering. "It's a little weird if you come back here while I'm...sleeping."

Why? You watch me sleep like all the time! She said blithely, completely missing his significant pause. D'lev rolled his eyes. He could be more explicit and had even tried explaining things in terms of a Flight, but Imith remained steadfastly innocent in some ways. He'd thought she would have grown out of that after her first Flight, but other than dispelling a severe case of prodiness, the green hadn't attained any enlightenment on this subject.

Besides, Fisk is starving to death! Look at him! How could you say no to that face? Imith told him, lowering her head to bring Fisk's perch closer to his view. D'lev felt some mild hunger from the baby flit, but he certainly wasn't starving. The greenrider narrowed his eyes at Imith, wondering if this was some jealous ploy on her part or just her garden-variety over exaggeration. She looked innocent enough, on this morning at least.

Just then, the bluerider sat up stretching. He yawned and opened his eyes to find three faces staring back at him. The man laughed and turned to look at D'lev. "I guess I'm not the only one who wanted to crawl into your bed."

"No." D'lev agreed, laying back down and throwing the fur over his aching head. Was it too late to go back to sleep?
