Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

"If this is to end in fire, we will all burn together."
He had her attention--that much was clear--but shard it if she wasn’t playing hard to get. Another of her favorite games, the man thought, suppressing a grumble as he eyed the knees between them. Forcing the little barrier aside would have been easy, but that wasn’t Al’tair’s style. Instead, he’d make Sidhe want to move her legs. Then it’d only be a matter of reeling her in.

The scars on the man’s face stretched with the smile Al’tair gave as the woman touched his head slightly. Then she spoke again, using the tone she knew drove him crazy, and he couldn’t help but shutter slightly as goose flesh played up and down his spine. Perhaps this game wasn’t so bad after all. “You’re probably right,” he said, looking briefly disheartened. He sighed and turned away momentarily. “The heat has gotten to me. I best cool off a bit.” With that he let his hands find the hem of his tunic and with one quick motion he peeled the shirt off, revealing his muscled body. “Ah, that is better.” He turned back to the girl, not caring enough to hide the smirk on his face. Not such a bad game at all.

Good point, the large bronze replied after a few moments of silent perplexing. What did it take for His to win what he wanted? Vex was right, it wasn’t luck, but it wasn’t necessarily skill either. Saulioth could understand skill. He himself had won quite a few flights, even though he was still quite young. He understood females liked big males like him, so perhaps it was Al’tair’s height that aided his attempts with Sidhe? No, that wasn’t it either.

Humans are quite difficult to understand sometimes, Saul commented aloud. His sides expanded greatly as he took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Green eyes were on the sky, watching as the last sliver of Rukbat disappeared. Seeing wasn’t so easy anymore, so he closed his lids and stretched out his neck to lay it on one of his outstretched paws. He doubted they’d be leaving anytime soon and the day had been long. He’d enjoy this time of rest. Anyway, have they told you what wing you will be flying in?

Dearly Departed
The thing with being pursued, Sidhe had learned, was that she never wanted to get away. Well, okay, not never, but those situations she halted well before they got to this point. Where she was now, the greenrider wanted to be caught, and she knew Al'tair knew it. It was only a matter of time, of patience. How long could she hold out and maintain his interest?

Holding out suddenly got a lot harder when he removed his shirt. Heat indeed.

She might talk a big game about enjoying the sidelines while she got settled into this new environment--one Al'tair practically dragged her to; yes she was still sore about that--but both riders knew that Sidhe was terrible at being single. Not to say she became dependent in a relationship because, let's face it, she knew far too much about how the mind worked to not know the signs in herself, but that didn't mean she liked not having a partner to help warm her bed every now and again.

Al'tair being shirtless was not helping her resolve to continue this game either.

"You should go around shirtless more often. You might actually tan," she teased lightly, pretending her voice hadn't tightened as she tapped her fingers rhythmically on her thigh. An anxious habit of hers, and one she'd never been able to break. One of her few tells she couldn't seem to control, but the moment she noticed, she stopped and used that hand to brush hair behind her ear. "And flight leathers don't give a good enough idea of what's underneath if you really want to go around wooing Vaioan women."

Of which she was one now.

Humans are difficult, Vexuth agreed with a nod, taking a breath and letting out a gusty sigh. They have no predictability in their flying and chasing. They just do, and I don't know what Sidhe looks for in who she lets catch her, but she does favor you rider. The greenrider would probably flay Vexuth to hear that but Sidhe was currently very occupied and not paying attention to her dragon's conversation.

As the last sliver of sun faded over the Rim, Vexuth readjusted her wings and leaned into Saulioth comfortably. We're to be in Marble Wing. I don't know if any of our other classmates are there as well. Where have you been placed?

It was weird… at Vex’s question about where he had been placed, Saulioth felt an impulse to lie and say they had been made Wing Leaders. Al’tair must’ve been rubbing off on him too much. He'd need to watch that.

I’m in Marble as well! the bronze rumbled happily. He was glad to know a dragon as capable as Vexuth would be with him to watch over his back. Being a bulky creature made dodging difficult and he depended a lot on other eyes to keep safe during a ‘Fall. He had learned that earlier on during drills. Luckily, he turned out to be an ace when it came to Betweening. We can watch over each other just like we’ve always done.

“What? I’m plenty tan!” Al’tair pinched his chin close to his neck as he looked down at his shirtless body. Okay, so he wasn’t as dark as some of these desert-dwelling Vaioans, but he’d get there. “Though… if you think it’d help me establish a harem around here, well, maybe I will start leaving the shirt behind.” He then smirked at her and quirked a brow; he hadn’t missed the rhythmic tapping of her fingers, nor the meaning behind the tell. She wanted him. He wanted her. But there was still that pesky wall between them--the one that refused to go away on its own and forced him to figure out a new way to breach it every time. But Sidhe was worth the effort more often than not and a night with her was very appealing. He wanted to feel the familiar and let her have him. At this point he would even apologize if that's what it took.

“Eh, but to be honest dealing with a multitude of needy girl’s every day is exhausting work. I think tending to the needs of one woman is easier. And more rewarding.” The man's face contorted to something devilish and he stood up. Then, moving quickly, he bent and slipped one of his arms under Sidhe's knees while the other wrapped around her back. Once he had her he swiftly plucked her from her place on the sofa and lifted. Sure, she could kick and fight if she wanted. But at this point he doubted the likelihood of that. So he decided to try and kiss her. His strong lips puckered and he closed his green eyes, extending his neck to offer passion. She could either kiss him or slap him. Either might be fun.
