Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

When R’ken woke it was before his usual time for rising for breakfast and Zaxth’s morning oiling, (the dragon himself was still happily dozing), and the beautiful sight the greeted R'ken's eyes confirmed that last night had indeed not been some intense dream, Ashwyn’s presence in his bed confirmed all as fact.

He was snuggled up against her his chest to her back an arm draped over her around her waist, He smiled through his morning sleepy haze tracing Ash’s thread scars with his eyes, the same scars that to him complimented Ash’s wild and fierce beauty. Honestly he was too comfortable too content and very tempted to settle back down and savour the moment and maybe ask for seconds when she woke up, but the rider willed himself to carefully remove his arm and ultimately himself from the bed, clothing himself and wincing a little as the recently made scratches down his back stung a little, he paused at the door looking back to the bed to check the occupant was still asleep, she was and he quietly slipped out moving quickly towards the kitchens shaking off the remaining sleepiness rolling up his sleeves to prepare a breakfast fit for a queen.

He worked quickly so as not to be in the way when the kitchen staff turned up and was soon bringing two steaming plates back to the weyr and a smaller dish of meat for Soreal, he honestly thought he’d made good time when he pushed his door open he was surprised to find Ashwyn already awake “morning sleeping beauty! Thought you might be hungry?” he said smiling at her.

Mother of Whers
Faranth, she was sore. And she knew exactly why. There could be no feigned or real confusion when she woke, because Ashwyn knew exactly what she had done the night before. What she had done with R'ken. She had slept soundly through the night, after they'd finished, only to half-wake on occasion to the unfamiliar feeling of another body wrapped around her. It had been far too long since she'd experienced that level of intimacy, and had she not fallen asleep quickly each time, it would have frightened her to realize that she enjoyed it. That she had missed it.

Soreal always came to wake her when it was time to rise for lessons, and so when Ashwyn woke on her own accord, she knew it was early. Too early to get up, for certain. She lay there on her side for a brief moment, snuggled up with the blankets tucked under her chin. They smelled like R'ken. That shouldn't have made her heart skip like it did. She didn't give herself long to savor it. The bed was empty, just as some part of her had expected it to be. Poor R'ken, waking to this sight. An unladylike snort escaped her, as she sat up and looked down at the empty side of the bed. There was a slight indentation there, distinctly human-shaped. He must not have left too long ago.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Ashwyn tried to seek out Soreal with her mind. She wasn't very successful. All she gathered was that the flit was still asleep, and therefore of little use to her. I hope he won. At least then, some good would have come out of this. That's not the only good. Unbidden, a smile crept onto her face. She couldn't lie to herself; she'd enjoyed the night with R'ken. He'd been...sweet, which was no surprise, really. Shaking her head, Ashwyn stretched with a little groan, fighting the urge to just flop back in the bed and return to sleep. No, if R'ken had left, that meant that she needed to leave before he returned. It was only polite.

Even as she thought about getting up, she was interrupted by the sound of the weyr's door opening. Fardles. On instinct, she pulled the blankets up over her chest. At the same time, she frantically ran her fingers through her hair, hoping to semi-tame it and getting the locks to partially cover the scarred side of her face. She'd expected to find R'ken annoyed when he saw her--really, why she expected that was beyond her, considering how he was basically her puppy--but when she was met with his smile and an armful of plates, she was taken aback. "Um...good morning." So eloquent, fool.

He'd brought her breakfast in bed. He didn't want her to leave right away. He really doesn't care about the scars. The "Ice Queen's" guarded expression softened, and she bit her lip before adding, "You didn't have to do that, R'ken. I've imposed enough already." Her smile was rueful and a little embarrassed, as she remembered how she had all but mauled him the night before. Flightlust is an interesting thing. Faranth, how would it be if she Impressed to a dragon?
