Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

Oh, right. Yes, that makes sense. Ardith wiggled a bit in an attempt to hide how awkward he was feeling. How did V'sin manage to start these conversation all the time? His rider seemed to do these things so easily, like asking questions that had no way of accidentally insulting someone.

Practice, Ardi. You'll get the hang of it eventually, I promise.

Right, okay. V'sin believed in him so he could do this! So, where did he begin? So..uh...are you and yours from Vaioa? Or somewhere else? Mine says that a lot of riders and their dragons transfer sometimes. That was a safe question, right? Better than the time he'd asked Zaxth about the weather.

V'sin's grin only widened at the giggle he managed to pull out of Zannah. "Yeah, eventually people would start to talk. And I'm afraid poor Ardith can't handle any more attention than what he already gets from our classmates." The brown was getting better at talking with Zaxth and Orisamith at least.

He gave her hand a firm shake as his grin settled down into a smile. "Well, pleasure to meet ya too Zannah. And I'm sure Ardith will be telling me all about Theriath later on if I don't get the chance to meet her myself." He really should get Ardith out and spending more time with dragons, maybe that would help with his awkwardness.

The brown perked up slightly when Theriath mentioned that her rider was like him. Oh, really? How so? Because I'm apparently a lot of things...

There is no but, that is all.
Theriath perked up, her eyes swirling excitedly. Vaioa is our home. Though, Mine, got herself transferred and we just got back. She shifted her wings as she tried to sit still. She didn't want to startle the brown, Zannah had mentioned that when someone she talked to moved around to much it put her on edge. Calm, stay calm. And Boring...

Zannah frowned in concern. "Are... the-they giving Ardith... a hard time?" If his dragon disliked attention she could understand that. Theriath with her endless supplies of energy tended to draw attention, and her energetic flying tended to bring about stares. Really unwanted stares.

There is nothing wrong with my flying... The green sounded offended, as her head snapped to the entrance of the lower caverns. Just for that I want to go flying...

Zannah sighed. "Wou-would you like to meet her?" She motioned down the hall away from the kitchens. She might be able to distract her offended partner, just maybe.

Theriath turned her attention back to the brown. She hummed kindly, not meaning to insult the little brown. She didn't see it as a bad thing, even if she wasn't shy at all. Shy. Mine, is very shy.

Oh, so Theriath was born here but transferred and now they were back. Oh, I see. Well then...welcome home! Wait...was that the right thing to say? Oh well, it was already out there. Ardith watched her for a moment, noticing that she was almost unnaturally still. For a dragon at least. Are you okay? You are very still...did I say something wrong? That happens sometimes, I'm not the best at talking with others. The brown huffed to himself. But I'm getting better! Mine is helping.

V'sin blinked before a frown immediately came to his face. "No! I would never let anyone give Ardith a hard time." The very thought that he would let anyone try and be mean or make the brown uncomfortable was insulting. But she was just asking a question, not trying to actually insult him. With a sigh, he ran his hand through his hair and gave Zannah a slightly apologetic look. "He just has a hard time talking to others. I mean, he's got not trouble with me, but dragons are hard for him. He's doing pretty well with two of them, but others...not so much. And when it comes to talking to any rider outside of me...that's basically non-existent. He did it once but not since then."

After finishing his mini-rant, V'sin noticed the woman sighing before offering to meet with her green. Okay, maybe he hadn't offended her with his quick defense. Good, that would've been bad. Zannah seemed nice after all. Maybe even someone who could understand Ardith's difficulty with speaking to others, since it seemed like she wasn't used to it either. Or at least that was his impression.

"Sure, I'd love to! You can meet Ardith as well. Besides, it's probably good if I stay outta the kitchens for a while. Wouldn't want to anger another firelizard." He joked, grinning slightly as he motioned for Zannah to go first.

Ardith tilted his head slightly as Theriath revealed that her rider was shy. Well, that made sense. It wasn't that he was shy on purpose, it was just hard to get conversation right. Oh yes. I suppose I am shy. Mine isn't though, he always easily falls into conversations with other people. Even strangers. The last part was said with just a bit of awe. The brown would never understand how V'sin could pull it off.

Theriath looked at Ardith. No, you've done nothing wrong. Mine says when others move to quickly its unnerving. I don't really know why. She shook out her wings before relaxing, Your doing fine from what I can tell.

Zannah frowned, slightly shaken from his sudden burst of anger but trying not to let it show. "I would love... to meet Ardith." She had a true love for Dragons, they were always so kind.

She was never very good with keeping conversations going. Even with her friends back at Ista she just listened most of the time. She was never very good at starting, or anything involving others. Well ending conversations, she was good at, but it tended to be in a awkward silences..

Strangers are the fun ones. Though mine doesn't do well with them... The green Hummed, looking towards the entrance. You shouldn't worry about what is said, just say it. The older dragon gave the closest thing to a dragon grin. She always said that to Zannah, but the shy girl never listened.

"M-might be smart." She smiled awkwardly as she started towards the cavern exit. She bit her lower lip wondering if she should ask, she was curious after all. "Um... what did you do... if y-you don't want to say..." She looked over at him before quickly looking away. "I'd...understand"

The moment Theriath relaxed so did Ardith. She wasn't running in the other direction and hadn't stopped talking to him. So he must be doing something right. Oh good, he could call this a victory then! V'sin would be proud! I do not mind you moving, as long as you don't step on me. He was no longer small enough to worry about that, especially since he was already as big as he was. In fact, he'd been taller than V'sin for a while now and his rider had to actually look up to get a look at his face.

V'sin noticed the slight chance in Zannah's demeanor after his outburst, especially the frown. He couldn't help but curse to himself. He hadn't meant to burst out at her like that, it'd just slipped. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to yell at you or anything...I guess it's just a touchy subject. I don't want anyone thinking I'd let anyone mess with Ardith." He ran a hand through his hair trying not to mimic his dragon and shift around awkwardly.

That's easy for you to say... Ardith mumbled, he had tried not to worry about things before but it never worked. At least not for long. Before he could work himself up too much about it, he realized that V'sin and apparently Theriath's rider were on their way out. Oh good! Now he wouldn't have to worry about any more firelizard attacks. Today.

V'sin groaned at the question Zannah asked but he continued to follow after her. He'd honestly been hoping to ignore it and pretend the whole thing never happened. In fact, he would probably do so as soon as they got outside. "Well...I may have stolen some food that she'd apparently targeted for herself. But it wasn't my fault! It wasn't like she'd been sitting right next to it or anything." He made a face. "I don't think it was even worth the trouble it caused me."

He blinked before waving a hand towards the greenrider. "Well except for the fact that it caused me to run into you. Or not run into you. Whatever, Ardith and I got to make new friends. That's a good thing."

Theriath hummed, humor flashing through her eyes as she lifted her foreleg looking down at the clawed foot. Stepping on you would be bad. But I do not believe it possible, young one. The greens tail darted back and forth as she moved her head towards the entrance.

Zannah nodded, a small smile forming on her lips. "I-I didn't mean to... I kn-know we just... meet, but... you don't seem... like you'd allow someone to speak ill of Ardith." She spoke softly as she moved towards the entrance where the two dragons waited.

You will learn. It will come easier. Theriath said full of herself. She'd been telling Zannah that for turns and her poor rider was only slightly better at dealing with people.

A look of shock passed over the green riders face. "She... attacked you over food..." She shook her head sending her braided brown hair dancing wildly. "That's...that's... horrible..." Zannah couldn't believe it. A gold or not, the little queen had no reason for attacking V'sin over food.

So caught up in her thoughts of the unjust attack she almost missed his next statement. Zannah blushed, she smiled as she look over at him. "Ne-new Friends... are great."

Zannah stepped out of the hall and smiled lovingly as she noticed Theriath, with the young brown. Having fun love?

Mine. Clumsy. Theriath moved her head to nudge Zannah with her nose, looking her over as if to make sure she was alright. Of course, your making a new friend. That's always fun.

Oh? Looking back at his body curiously before turning his attention to Theriath's lifted foot, even the brown could see that he wasn't in danger of being stepped on and squished. Well...you could still step on my tail...? Ardith offered quietly before following her example and looking towards the entrance for V'sin.

"Oh, I wouldn't let anyone mess with my friends. Especially Ardith, he's already pretty hard on himself sometimes." V'sin replied. There was no way he'd let anyone bully the people he cared about.

A slightly amused look crossed his face at the shocked look that came over Zannah's face. "It was, but I think she was pretty territorial or just an angry firelizard in general. Not that I particularly like any of them." He mumbled the last part to himself, wrinkling his nose just a bit. Sharding things could be downright scary when they wanted to be. Not that he was afraid of them or anything. Just really, reallllly disliked them.

V'sink blinked at the blush that he'd managed to cause by saying they'd made new friends. What, did she not get called friend very often? That...wasn't too surprising considering how shy she seemed. Oh well, Ardith and himself would just have to show her how. Or...well he could and Ardith could try as much as possible. When she smiled at him, the weyrling offered a grin back.

Chuckling at the greeting Zannah received from Theriath, he moved over to stand next to Ardith who moved to curl his body around him. Well, as much as he could considering his size. "Sooo, am I Clumsy? That's what she called me earlier, must be my new nickname."

I've never noticed you to be clumsy. You usually manage to stay on your feet. Ardith commented to V'sin.

She's just teasing me about the fact that I fell to the ground earlier, Ardi. He replied back, reaching up to lightly tap the brown's nose. "Well, Theriath. It's nice to officially meet you. Thanks for keeping Ardith here company. He gets lonely when I'm gone for too long."

You are, clumsy. Theriath looked over at the brown rider her eyes swirling with humor, finding her joke very amusing. Zannah smiled running her hand over Theriath's eye ridges, causing the green to hum happily. It was my pleasure. Ardith is wonderful company.

Zannah giggled at Theriath's teasing, the green was always more friendly once she'd 'named' someone. Though her rider usually didn't get the names until they were explained. She did this time, but it didn't seem fitting. After all V'sin only fell because he'd avoided her. I think you can do better then that.

Not changing it. Theriath purred at her rider.

The green rider turned her attention to the young brown. She smiled sweetly and curtsied. Even in pants she performed the very girly move as she was raised to. "W-well meet... Ardith..." Zannah had a soft spot for browns, apart from the Blue she'd been searched by, a Very friendly brown had made her feel welcome once she'd become an candidate. "I hope.. you're well today."

"See Ardith? You're wonderful company." V'sin grinned, slightly teasing the brown. "Before ya know it all the females are gonna wanna hang out with you. Zaxth and R'ken will be so jealous." The brown let out a rumbling laugh at that idea. He doubted the bronze or his rider would ever be jealous of him but it was an amusing thought.

I dunno if you've noticed, but you're a handsome brown. You'll have all sorts of good attention on ya when ya least expect it. V'sin offered before his full attention was drawn back to the green pair as Zannah set about introducing herself to Ardith. When she curtsied, V'sin had to fight back a smirk. See? It's starting already!

Ignoring his rider's sense of humor, the brown watched the other rider for a moment. Well she didn't seem so bad and Theriath had been very nice to him. With a slight nudge of encouragement from the dark haired male, Ardith slowly unwound himself from V'sin. He tilted his head before giving it a quick nod to confirm that yes, he was well today. Tell her I am doing very well, Theriath. And that I hope she is okay after being almost run over by mine.

He did not want to startle the woman by talking to her, not if she was like him when it came to speaking with others. So since he'd proven he could talk with the green he could just talk to her. That would be okay, right?

Theriath shook her head, before lowering it just above Zannah's. She hummed softly, staring at the weyrling rider as she did so. The green 'relayed the brown's message, Ardith says he's well. And he hopes you're alright after clumsy almost ran you down.

V'sin had mentioned the brown had a hard time talking to others. Maybe that was what Theriath had meant when she'd claimed the brown was like her. Zannah mentally nodded. That must be why he was speaking though Theriath. Seems you made a new friend too.

The green's tail twitched as she turned her attention to the brown. I would consider Ardith a friend.

That made Zannah happy. Maybe Theriath could bring the shy brown out of his shell. Shards knew the green put her rider in situations where she had to interact with others enough.

Zannah smiled looking up at Theriath, before looking back at the brown. "I'm...very well, no harm done." She didn't find the message strange, she'd meet dragons who'd communicated to other riders through their dragons. She smiled at V'sin, moving closer to the brown giving the brown a kind look. "You..are very kind Ardith to ask."
