Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

V'sin still wasn't sure who originally came up with the idea. Taro and himself had been talking and before they knew it they were planning this whole trip. Of course R'ken managed over hear them and was now coming along as well. It wasn't until it was actually getting close to time to go that he realized the last time T'vir and himself had put their heads together they'd woken up the next morning with hangovers and a severely depleted cache of booze. On the morning of a hatching that they both ended up Impressing during. So this could be a great idea...or a really horrible one.

A really horrible one. Ardith pointed out. You are going to get into trouble! Going out this late is against the rules and... Before the brown could finish his sentence, a yawn escaped him. Vuka grinned slightly, moving to the brown's side and brushing his hand against his side. "Don't worry, we're not gonna be doing anything bad. Just some time out of the barracks and what not. We'll be back before ya know it." He assured the tired dragon before standing back up and smoothing his shirt back down. "If ya get lonely you can go see Zaxth or Orsamith. I'm sure one of them wouldn't mind the company." It also meant their going out would hopefully stay between them and their dragons.

Eventually Ardith was mostly soothed with only a few sleepy mutterings coming from him. Which meant it was now time for him to head out while he could. Hopefully the other two would be ready as well so they could leave soon. Best to do it before one of the other weyrlings caught them, or worse, one of the weyrlingmasters. Peeking his head out of his room, Vuka quickly checked the hall before heading to the common room to wait for his partners in crime for the night. Hopefully this would end up being fun, otherwise it would just be a waste.

Try not to get stepped on. Was Ardith's last words before he could feel the brown slip into sleep. Good, that meant the bronze and copper should be following suit soon and they could get out of here sooner. The quicker they got to the dining hall the faster they would start earning more marks. Or...well, hopefully earn more marks. V'sin wasn't really sure how well T'vir or R'ken played cards.

Zaxth glared into the back of R’ken’s head his obvious disapproval was apparent and what would have been clear to those outside of the intricate and intimate bond between dragon and rider, was painfully evident to R’ken, eventually he broke the silence “you know burning a hole in my head’s not gonna change my mind” he said as he turned to meet his dragon’s gaze

Apparently not Zaxth snorted you’d first need a mind, for any change to occur. And if you had one then you’d probably know how stupid this plan of yours really is! Have you even considered how much trouble we’ll all be in if you’re caught out after lights out? Or how badly it’ll reflect on us?

“Zaxth you worry too much, we’ll be fine.” R’ken said confidently giving the bronze dragonet a reassuring pat which Zaxth accepted though he still rejected the words spilling from his boy’s mouth “besides that curfew thing is for younger impressers who really need their sleep, not legends and heroes in the making...that and those marks I’m gonna win would help me get some good formal clothing so I can match you at feasts and maybe some other stuff too!”

A comb would be a good investment as well Zaxth added noting Roh’s hair was a mess as always, but Zaxth breathed deeply clearly there was little he could do other than alert one of the weyrling masters like Ebruinth or Zakroth, of R’ken’s, T’vir and V’sin’s plans for the evening. But both the dragon and the young man knew that wasn’t even an option to Zaxth, he didn’t want to get R’ken or the others in trouble any more than he wanted them to break the rules.

“I’ll be fine and careful heck I’ll be back before you know it!” R’ken said with a grin.

I could come too the dragon said even as he opened his maw in a great yawn.

“nah that’d be a bad idea big guy, we’d attract more attention like that not less and besides you need your sleep, you take it easy.”

Easy for you to say…R’ken as you go leave the door ajar I plan to invite my clutch brothers in

Zaxth still wasn’t happy with the situation but he settled himself on the dragon couch, fighting the tired feeling as he curled up he reached out with his mind to Ardith but sensing the brown was sleeping he withdrew the communication attempt and stretched his thoughts to his copper clutch brother Orsamith assuming you’ve had about the same amount of success with talking sense into Yours as I did and would like some company there should be room enough here.

“no Problem!” R’ken said as he headed out “but be sure to close it if they come don’t want to arouse suspicion!” he called as he closed the door carefully so it was just a crack easily pushed open for a dragon to enter.

R’ken was glad he didn’t need to go far to reach the common room and he grinned as he saw V’sin was already there. “hey, I’m here finally escaped Zaxth’s disapproving glares” he said with a laugh while trying to keep his voice down “thanks for not minding me tagging along for this V’sin! I take it we’re just waiting on Taro now? Or have others invited themselves along for the fun?”

Dearly Departed
There were many, many days when Taro was glad his room neighbored the common room. He could sleep in a few extra minutes before rushing to a lesson, he could hear anything fun going on that needed his presence to make it that much more fun, and he could treat it like his personal hang out. Since he couldn't work his still--Orsamith kept him far too busy--he didn't have his hide-out anymore. Had to work with what he had.

Which was exactly why he and V'sin had somehow come up with the idea of sneaking out. At first they had talked about boredom and the lack of excitement as young Weyrlings. There was nothing but oiling and bathing and butchering and feeding and exercising and drilling... Basically nothing fun.

And this is going to be fun?

"You're not going, Orsa," T'vir reminded the copper.

But someone has to watch your back.

"R'ken and V'sin will be there."

But they're here. Why do you have to go out so late? Isn't that not allowed?

"You're just bummed you can't go."

But why not!

"Because you're too distinctive. Besides, one of us should be awake tomorrow to listen to the lesson," T'vir said with a rub to the copper's head on his way out the door. He shut it behind him before Orsamith could say anything else, and the copper shared a long-suffering look with Rum. Uh, I'd love to Zaxth except... Do either you or Ardith know how to open doors? He tilted his head, looking at the strange mechanism that T'vir operated with ease.

"Oh good, you're both here," he grinned upon entering the common room, keeping his voice down. "'s far as I know, we're the only ones going, unless V'sin invited more. Pretty woman maybe?" he raised a brow at the brownrider and smirked.

V'sin smirked slightly as R'ken showed up with a grin. The young boy was usually easily excited so it wasn't surprising that he showed up like he did. "Zaxth disapproves too? Ardith wasn't happy about us going out either. He's pretty concerned about us getting into trouble." He shrugged and ran a hand through his hair. It wasn't like he could convince R'ken to not go with them. He probably wanted to get out and have some exciting times as badly as T'vir and himself. Plus, maybe if they hadn't let him come along he might've told on them or something. Who knew?

Once T'vir was there, V'sin grinned at the suggestion the copper rider had. "If only. I don't think any of the girls here would've gone with us. Though, I suppose I could've asked Rit..." The last sentence was mumbled to himself as he wondered why he hadn't asked his friend to sneak out with them. Oh, right. Because things were still a bit weird with them at the moment. Impression seemed to have strained their relationship a bit.

"Ah well. Maybe we'll meet some pretty women while we're out." He paused before motioning for the other two to follow him out of the barracks. Best to get out while they could before they accidentally woke anyone up. Then their night would be ruined. That just couldn't happen when they'd finally gotten this chance and even managed to get their dragons to be on the hush about it all. Even if there was plenty of disapproval. "Granted we aren't actually allowed to do much with said pretty women. Such a shame."

Once they were outside and headed towards the lower caverans, V'sin turned around to walk backwards so he could see his classmates. "Okay, so the plan is for cards, yes? Because I'm pretty sure between the three of us we could make plenty of marks tonight. If R'ken here is as good at Dragonpoker as he is with women." The last part was a bit sarcastic as he teased the younger boy.

“Glad you could make it T’vir” R’ken said as Taro made his entrance and laughed at the exchange about lady company “if I’d have known I’m pretty sure I could of found some not so platonic company for the non-horizontal variety of fun” he stated then sighed dramatically “such is the sacrifice when fine men like us impress in the prime of our desirability, all the poor ladies who must wait for us with cold beds and empty hearts, weep for them I truly do” he finished chuckling to himself “But at least we’re worth waiting for!”

R’ken’s spirits soared as V’sin beckoned to him and T’vir to follow him out and into their adventure, Breaking the rules was not new to the bronze weyrling, but he relished the sense of daring that you only really felt when you knew that someone somewhere would throw a bovine if they knew what you were doing. Though it was a first for him to have comrades in rule breaking, this was going to be fun indeed.

At V’sin’s jab at his skills he laughed “you’d better hope I’m not that good at the game! I’d win enough to buy the Weyr at those odds, Me and Zaxth will be Weyrleaders before our first flights” R’ken joked “the real question is how good do you guys think you are?”

Back at the weyrling barracks on hearing his clutch brother’s predicament Zaxth uncoiled himself from his bed and shook himself to fend off the sleep that beckoned to him I have never tried but really, how hard can it be? he asked the copper as he used his paw to pry open the door and slunk out heading for Orsamith’s room. between the two of us we should be able to work this out he said as he examined the door that separated him from the copper dragon, he tried pushing against it but of course that didn’t work then he tried chomping at where the bar handle met the door and only really succeeded in coating it in dragon saliva and getting a nasty metallic taste in his mouth, how was his rider able to work this contraption and yet he couldn’t work it out? He thought about asking R’ken but no he wouldn’t interrupt his boy’s evening and distract him, at least not yet anyway, you have any ideas Orsamith? he asked his eyes flickering red at the offending slab of wood my only current one involves firestone and I don’t think its very feasible
