Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

How far away are they?!
Rayna nodded and took another sip of her Klah, allowing her hand to run over Watcher's back. She shook her head. "No concerns I can think of; it's nice just to know that there is ONE thing that I don't need to worry about, which makes a change." She snorted, scratching Watcher's eye ridges. "All I would say is keep on top of Candidate robes; we get an influx of new ones almost daily, beyond that just clothes for the drudges and Weyrfolk in general. I can promise you know you will have plenty of them coming your way. Riders is a main one; maintaining their riding gear is naturally a priority. Projects? Being on top of celebrations; we always need new materials and banners made for Gathers and feasts. A variety of them is worth having to hand." The woman said after a moments thought.

Shard It All hummed happily as Shimmy settled beside her while Watcher kept an eye on the pair from on high. He was content enough to let the Green chatter at the Blue, he was getting all the attention that he needed. "If she gets annoying just poke at her, she forgets to stop yammering sometimes." The woman snorted.

"I've been working on the robes, but I'll take another look, make sure we have plenty." Marc promised. Couldn't be too careful; wouldn't want naked candidates on the sand, right? He nodded along as Rayna mentioned a few other duties; most he already knew, but it still didn't hurt to hear them direct from the Headwoman, rather than secondhand from someone not as in-tune with the Weyr's needs and priorities. A thoughtful gleam crossed his gaze as she mentioned tapestries and banners- those were a more significant undertaking, of course, (but offered more of an opportunity for creative expression- to some extent, anyways)- but he did have a few journeymen and apprentices at the hold that might help... "Ooh, I'll definitely have to see what I can do about that, between my other duties." the weaver mentioned, a trace of cautious enthusiasm in his easy tone and posture, images already running through his head. Hmm, he'd have to go over all the existing Weyr banners and tapestries, see what would be acceptable subject matter...

Marcius chuckled at Rayna's firelizard comment, and reached out to scritch Shimmy behind the head, which caused the little blue to harmonize with the green with a soft hum of pleasure and tilt his head back to peer upside-down at the weaver, eyes fully blue-green and calm despite the other two flits occupying His Room.
Marcius, Master Weaver

Shar, Roselite Weyrling, copper Simianth

R'kor, Flint Wingthird, blue Castanith
