Welcome to Vaioa,

a desert triumvirate of Hold, Weyr, and Mine. Thread's return and bandit raiding brought strife between weyr and hold, but the bandits' recent defeat has returned the region to an uneasy peace. Now, a shipwreck on a forgotten continent and the decision to settle this rediscovered land has opened up a world of opportunity to Vaioa, if only they can handle the dangers.

His skin was on fire wherever R'jin's fingers trailed, and the muscles in his jaw tightened under that teasing touch. D'kir's whole body was willingly responding to the seductive voice and presence of the other so near, sweat breaking out on his forehead as his face flushed even further if that were possible.

A part of him wanted to run, far away, and find a hole to hide inside in his terror. Brief memories of his father's wrath loomed, reminding him of the very reason he'd fled his home to seek out the Weyr in the first place. The memories were quickly dashed away by Tanohth's encouraging presence, and the terror was replaced with more heat.

The brief panic in R'jin's eyes wasn't lost on him, and for a moment he wondered if the situation was getting out of hand. Maybe he should flee. Maybe he should-

"Mmmh!"

D'kir mumbled out a gasped exclamation of surprise at R'jin's dainty kiss on the corner of his mouth. His shoulders drew upward almost defensively while one hand played delicately at the back of the grayrider's neck under the spill of that fiery orange hair.

Seemingly without even thinking, D'kir turned his head just enough so that their lips fully met, and his eyes flicked closed for fear of the moment simply disappearing and proving to be some sort of cruel trick.

I feel that maybe at this moment I should introduce myself, Aqueath reached out to Tanohth, in the end her own sociable nature winning out over her initial decision to let things unravel as they would. I am Aqueath, and that is my R'jin. I just thought that I should introduce us before I find something else to pay attention to for the time being.

Oh shells I don't even know his name, do I? R'jin piped up, and the grey snorted, her rider getting the distinct impression that if she could roll her eyes, she would. I will find that out for you. Then you can impress him with how smart you are, because he won't know it was me.

His dragon was a genius.

He was also a genius, for maneuvering himself into this situation. Sure, there had been a bit of a hiccup a moment ago, but now everything seemed just fine, bathed in a kind of fizzy haze. R'jin pressed his chest up against D'kir, wiggling closer with a happy little sigh. He hummed against the bronzerider's lips, using delicate fingers to tip the young man's jaw upward to make it easier to kiss him. Yes, everyone involved in this whole scenario was undeniably incredibly intelligent and no one involved was going to possibly regret this later. Not at all.

"You know," he purred after a moment, "I was going to have this dress cut into a shirt by a tailor. But after your reaction I think I may be forced to keep it as is."

Tanohth was delighted when the gray gently queried him, rumbling pleasantly from where he lounged, A pleasure to meet you, Aqueath. I am Tanohth, and I believe my D'kir already knows of Yours. He disapproved of Yours before today. Not so much anymore, I think. His voice rippled with humor.

D'kir choked a little in surprise as R'jin finally just pressed up against him, wriggling about uncertainly for a second before simply accepting the contact. He attempted to arch his back in such a way that the fact that his trousers were feeling a tad tighter than they had been before wouldn't become noticed too awkwardly.

He felt a little like he was floating, the blood was pounding in his ears and he wanted very much to see more of R'jin. But no matter how he wanted it, he couldn't make himself do much more than let his fingers trail down the curve of the grayrider's shoulder to trace the outline of the collarbone.

"I-if you want..." he whispered, his throat too constricted to voice more than that. "Looks good on you."

Who would have known, a man in a dress would be just the thing for you, Tanohth chuckled.

There is much to disapprove of, Aqueath admitted. We're working on it.

While the past few moments had been more than pleasant, R'jin was peripherally aware that perhaps things had escalated to a point where they needed to simmer down. He pulled away slowly, dragging out one more kiss before stepping back, reaching out to press a finger to D'kir's lips, a silent "ssshh".

"While that was wonderful, sweetroll, I have places to be and things to do before the day is out. Aqueath still needs a bath and, frankly, I think I need some me-time."

Gross.

R'jin shimmied out of the dress, pulling it delicately up and over his head and folding it before shirking his own tunic back on. He dropped a wink in D'kir's direction, and with a, "Meet you in another closet sometime," and a blown kiss he was around the corner and out of sight.

D'kir couldn't help but giggle a little against that drawn-out kiss, eyes glittering with want and playfulness. But suddenly R'jin had moved back, finger over his lips to shush him. D'kir let out a sigh through his nose, though one hand couldn't help but be outstretched toward the grayrider in silent entreaty.

Aqueath and Hers are still weyrlings. Only a couple months or so from graduation, however, Tanohth's tone colored with anticipation, and D'kir shared it as he watched R'jin slip out of sight after a last playful quip.

Once he was gone, D'kir's legs gave out under him and he sank to the floor amidst his forgotten clothing, head leaning back against the shelf with a soft clunk as a gusty sigh escaped him.

I think you need some you time as well. I am going to feed, Tanoth said firmly before withdrawing again to head off to the herdbeast pens.

Gathering up the clothing and boots with shaky hands, D'kir managed to stagger from the storerooms and back to his weyr without further incident, except for looking rather drunken to any observers.
