Posted Image Name: John Alexander Masters Nickname: Phantom Shadow Callsign: Phantom Shadow Age: 24 Gender: Male Origin: American Birthplace: Malboro, Van Sara D.O.B.: December 31, AD 3391 Blood Type: A+ Genetic Type: Natural Hair Color: Brown Eye Color: Blue Height: 6'2 Weight: 240 lbs Faction: Galaxy Federation Biography: Born on New Year's Eve, John Alexander Masters lived with his parents in Malboro City, Van Sara colony world. He had a prosperous childhood, being the son of Federation prospectors but wasn't oblivious to the war occuring around him. Since birth, John was gifted with the 'Devil's Luck'. At six, John was involved in a near fatal automobile accident which killed all other junior school students on board and left the driver paralyzed from waist down. John emerged from the crash suffering only a few cuts and bruises, making a swift recovery two days later. The victim's parents have despised him since, giving the impression that he was born a Coordinator. John eventually found a close friend in Marisa Branford, the only daughter of Malboro's ruling governor when he saved her from drowning in Lake Van Sara. Because Marisa was open minded, she had no qualms befriending a 'Coordinator' although John eventually proved her wrong by catching a cold the day after. Their friendship slowly blossomed into love as they entered their teenage years. On their junior prom night, John unexpectedly proposed to Marisa vowing to keep her safe. She accepted, under the condition that John would always come home with a smile on his face. Their prom night photograph would become John's most prized momento. John came close to Death's Door while following his parents on a business trip years later, when their shuttle was caught in the middle of a Federation-Imperial Army battle. Taking severe damage from stray gunfire, all passengers including John's parents and the crew members were killed. The Federation recovered the shuttle's remains following their victory and found an unconscious John surviving in an undamaged pressurized cabin. John's body was taken for immediate medical examination aboard the flagship Telos and EMT's were shocked to discover his rapid recovery rate. Intrigued by John's hidden potential despite his rather ordinary birth, the commander of the Telos, Admiral James Revil took John to Scion where he was placed under the Federation's Phantom Project. Recovering three days later, John was questioned by Federation Naval Intelligence officers regarding the shuttle accident but was unable to recall the incident or his past with the exception of his name 'Alex Masters'. Merely a week after being introduced to the Phantom Project, Alex was put into immediate training by Gantric's leading man, Director Jericho Kane. An ideal physical and mental candidate, Alex had greater physical proportions, possessing extraordinary strength, and exhibiting superior reflexes combined with his aggressive drive for success. His scores were also relatively higher than that of any aspiring Ghost candidate at the time. Trained by Chief Spectre Joshua Mendez, Alex was instructed in the use of CQC, firearms, tactical espionage, fitness conditioning, and academics. Mendez always regarded Alex as his most prized student, for he did not possess any extra spatial abilities like himself. He remarked that Alex's strength comes from his heart and his will to live. Originally planned for reconditioning like every other successful Ghost candidate, the idea was overlooked when Mendez convinced Director Jericho Kane regarding Alex's amnesia and his undying loyalty to the Federation. Known as an emerging leader among men, Alex was assigned his own Ghost unit while undertaking a mission to assassinate a few key resistance leaders of the Antillian Protectorate and the Morian Liberation Front. While Alex was successful completing his mission objectives, his squad's inexperience gave him a difficult time. Alex returned to Scion the only survivor and was hailed the God of Death by Director Kane. Graduating as the Federation's only Phantom, Alex was granted permission to operate solo under the condition that his actions were frequently monitored by Federation Naval Intelligence. To complete his moniker, Director Kane provided Alex with the Phantom Battle Dress Armor, the prototype combat suit originally designed for first generation Spectres. Alex became the first member of the Ghost Program recommended for mobile weapons training when Naval Intelligence felt his services were required in other fields. He found piloting a mobile suit to be equally satisfying, seeing that it was a fresh challenge for a man of his talents. Assigned to the Federation Fourth Army, Alex or John unexpectedly reunites with his childhood friend Marisa Branford now the commanding officer of her own ship. While Marisa sensed an air of familiarity in Alex, she later revealed to him that 'John' died in a shuttle accident. Joining the Eclipsor Prime recovery campaign, Alex infiltrated Imperial Army ranks at the city of New St. Petersburg and successfully assassinated its Governor-General. Living up to his reputation, Alex was known not to leave a single survivor or witness to his assassinations earning the infamous title of Phantom Shadow. The chaos Alex inflicted to the Imperial Army at Eclipsor Prime paved the way for the Federation third and seventh armies to conduct their joint attack. Alex was soon inducted into Death Cell, a Federation special forces unit consisting mostly of serial killers. He was instructed by Director Kane to lead the unit during the Federation's assault on Eclipsor Prime's key cities. Initially distrustful of his newfound comrades, Alex allowed them to do as they please during most of their missions though he kept a close eye on them in the event of insubordination. As they participated in more missions together, the other twelve members of Death Cell grew to respect Alex out of admiration at his ability to lead by example. Alex lost five of his Death Cell comrades during the Battle of New St. Petersburg and while their deaths shook him for the first time in his life, he moved on knowing that their fates were sealed when they served their 'death sentence' through lifelong military service. Death Cell became renowned for their achievements during the Battle of Port Stockholm where they participated in battle on foot and in mobile suits. Being one of the first units sent in to recover Eclipsor Prime's capital city, Alex paved the way for the Federation main force to follow up. After their mobile suits were disabled following long hours of near endless fighting, Death Cell resumed the battle on foot. Together they stormed the Representative of Edenia's residence, executing all individuals aligned with empire. Of the twelve members that joined Alex to form Death Cell, only four remained by the time the Eclipsor Prime campaign concluded. Due to his success at Eclipsor Prime, Naval Intelligence decided to transfer Death Cell to the Federation First Army in their ongoing battle against the Imperial Army. |
