Posted Image Name: Graham Domanic Aker Nickname: Azure Lightning Callsign: Azure Lightning Age: 22 Gender: Male Origin: American Birthplace: Acrepolis, Fifth Jerusalem D.O.B.: September 10, AD 3393 Blood Type: A Genetic Type: Natural Hair Color: Blonde Eye Color: Olive Green Height: 6'2 Weight: 187 lbs Faction: Galaxy Federation Biography: Graham "Gram" Domanic Aker was born a war orphan, having lost both his parents to the war between the Federation and Imperial superpowers. Unlike the other orphans, who blamed both sides for causing the death of their parents, Graham unsurprisingly remained fiercely loyal to the Galaxy Federation. His caretaker, Reverend Bennett, later told him that his late father Captain Windham Aker, fought and died for the Galaxy Federation as a mobile suit pilot. From a young age, Graham fell in love with airplanes and frequently dreamt of flying. Reverend Bennett strongly discouraged Graham to pursue that path initially but later allowed the boy to do so once he learned that it had nothing to do with the military. Ironically however, Graham lacked the monetary means to attend flight school and become a civilian pilot. At age fifteen, he decided to join the Galaxy Federation military to become an air force pilot. Against Reverend Bennett's wishes, Graham ran away from the orphanage with fellow orphans and closest friends, Howard Mason and Joshua Edwards. The three friends later dropped their Catholic faith and became athiests once they all entered military academy. Much to his delight, Graham was accepted into military flight school while both Howard and Joshua enlisted in the mobile suit training program. Graham's outstanding results in flight simulators prompted his instructors to award him his first test flight with the F-32 Schwert in just three months. At seventeen, Graham became a fully fledged member of the Federation United Armed Forces under their air force division. Graham was soon assigned to Moria to fight against the Kelanis forces during the Guild Wars. He was only a Corporal by the time he experienced his first battle as a Galaxy Federation soldier. However, his performance in live combat rivaled that of his simulator results. Using his signature F-32, Graham shot down a record twenty five mobile suits using a fighter jet. During the battle's conclusion, Graham unintentionally shot down his commanding officer when his heatseeking missile tracked the wrong source. As a result of his actions, Graham was kicked out of the unit and was sent back to Fifth Jerusalem. When arriving back at Federation Supreme Headquarters however, Graham found out that he was transferred to Strategic Air Wing Command. While Strategic Air Wing Command, the 724th Autonomous Task Force, is famous for having some of the finest ace pilots in the Galaxy Federation Armed Forces, its roster consisted primarily of mobile suits. The head of the unit, Colonel Matthew Hayter, was intrigued with Graham's ability in flying. Graham was eventually assigned to pilot the Union Flag, then still in its prototype stages. As he was never fond of reading, Graham took off in the Flag without reading its instruction manual. However, Graham piloted the unit easily and became the first pilot of the Galaxy Federation to perform a mid-air transformation from flight mode to mobile suit mode while peaking at top speed and in full motion. Intrigued by the performance of the Union Flag and its fighter-like capabilities, Graham dedicated himself to become a mobile suit pilot, or as he coined the term himself, a Flag Fighter. As Flags were still in development at the time, Graham began as a Realdo Fighter. Yet his abilities in the Union Realdo made him a force to be reckoned with. Graham eventually rose through the ranks in the 724th and became a First Lieutenant by the time he turned nineteen. He also found a dear friend and a fatherly figure in Colonel Hayter. Turning twenty, Graham was approached by Colonel Hayter on a subject of marraige. The latter wished for Graham to marry his daughter, Melanie, a renowned country singer. Graham humbly declined for he felt he wasn't worthy of a woman of her prestige despite the fact that she was in love with him. On the eve of the Union Flag's official rollout, both Graham and Colonel Hayter fought one another in practice, each using their respective Flag. Graham eventually won the dogfight but an electronics malfunction in Colonel Hayter's Flag led to a fatal crash landing which killed him. Though acknowledged by Federation High Command as an accident, the incident left Graham with a bad reputation among his colleagues at the 724th. When Graham was promoted to Captain three days following the incident, rumors began floating around which made some people believe that Graham intentionally killed Colonel Hayter to see himself promoted. His untimely appointment as head of Strategic Air Wing Command added more fuel to the fire. Graham didn't mind the rumors, or being badmouthed by others, he vowed to redeem himself on the battlefield. Over time, Graham's might on the battlefield earned him the moniker, The Azure Lightning and he has since been acknowledged as one of the Federation's top mobile suit pilots. Through his reckless approach to combat, Graham has fought and survived against the best of Imperial Dominion ace pilots which includes the Lord Marshal of the Imperial Army himself. In a cost cutting measure a few years later, Graham decided to reduce his unit's roster from 125 to just 50, a number which corresponds to the stars on the American flag. Graham had always desired for the 724th to be something special. He eventually requested from Federation High Command to have 49 of the best Union Flag Fighters of American descent to join his squadron. Before doing so, Graham kicked the weakest links out of his beloved squadron. To his delight, 49 of the finest American Flag Fighters did arrive and each representing their respective state of origin. His new recruits also included his close friends, Howard and Joshua. Now equipped with the finest roster, a war chest of experience, and his trademark Flag, Graham felt confident his redemption could lead to the end of the war he despises. |
