Throughout his career as a soldier, Lynx was known for many things to ally or enemy but most notably being an ace pilot. As an ace pilot, Lynx expects the best and he gives his best. While normally seen battling the greats from the Imperial Army and the Antillian Protectorate Forces, he has been subjected to perform some meager tasks in between. As soldiers of the Galaxy Federation also double as counter terrorists, many distinguished soldiers often feel agitated at the thought of performing meager tasks like eliminating terrorists.

Lynx felt a little annoyed an ace pilot of his caliber isn't spared from such meager tasks either. "You called me all the way out here for this?" he grunted to the old Federation Brigadier General sitting in front of him. "Can't the defense force do the honors and wipe out these insurgents themselves? There's a reason why they get paid to fly mobile suits." Before his sarcasm could continue, Lynx was interrupted by his wife, Ariana, who cleared her throat and flashed him a look of discontent. The renowned Cypher was quick to withdraw his previous statement.

Fortunately the Brigadier General wasn't too offended. "We're terribly sorry, Colonel Fenix." said the old man, bowing in apology. "However, we're a little short on hands at the moment since some of our defense force operatives were called to arms for the Eclipsor Prime campaign." That was a long hard fought campaign where Lynx contributed to its eventual success. "Please understand, we heard you were in the area and your generosity knows no bounds." Lynx spied Ariana from the corner of his eye and she smiled back in return.

Hearing some praise lifted Lynx's mood a little. "I suppose I could use a warm up before fighting those Imps." He looks to his lovely wife, gently stroking her long brunetter hair before turning to the Brigadier General once more. "Go on, Brigadier General. I'm listening." said Lynx while crossing one foot over the other.

The general was relieved when Lynx agreed to listen to his proposition. "Thank you so much, Colonel." Pushing a few buttons on the interface, the general brings up a holographic monitor which displayed some old footage of a battle that took place by the outskirts of Galaxia City.

"Two days ago, our contacts at Galaxy Armaments had one of their mobile suit production lines on Island Seven attacked by what seems to be our own Union Realdo units. Of course when the pilots refuse to identify themselves according to our demands, we immediately assume those two pilots are connected with the Black Scorpion insurgents within the area. Since the defense force has their hands tied up momentarily, we hope your renowned unit will assist us in carrying out this mission."

The name was familiar to Lynx, who fought some of their members during his days as a low ranking officer. "I figured it'll be them. They're from the area." he spoke with a calm collective tone. "Don't they know when to give up?" Lynx exhaled a sigh.

"Our intelligence has pinpointed a possible location for their hideout." the general pushes another button to display a map of the ocean surrounding Galaxia City. "Here are the approximate coordinates." Lynx noted them down in his head quickly. "We heard Major Mercer knows the area pretty well." Lynx nodded at the mention of his best friend and current comrade-in-arms.

It was often hard to trust the reliability of military intelligence but not that of his best friend. "Yes, Norad's from Galaxia City. He knows these islands pretty well." Lynx replied with a smile, knowing this mission will be a breeze with Norad within his ranks.

"Colonel Fenix, Aramis and Ariadyne thank you for your services."

Lynx and Ariana rose from their seats. "Thank me when this war is all over." Lynx responded while looking over his shoulder. "And please find yourself some capable men for the defense force until they're dead or until you find someone better." Ariana giggled at that statement. The newlyweds turned and saluted the general before taking their leave.

Returning to Ariadyne was always brought a nostalgic feeling to Norad Mercer. He was, after all, born and bred on this very world, growing up on Galaxia City for most of his life. The view of Ariadyne from one of the many recreational lounges in Aramis was a sight to behold. There wasn't a moment where Norad didn't feel like hopping on one of the many shuttles departing to the surface. Unfortunately, he wasn't back home in Ariadyne for a holiday. Rather, he was here as the public chaperone of his best friend and commanding officer, Colonel Lynx Fenix and his loving wife Captain Ariana von Reuenthal-Fenix.

Norad relaxed himself on one of the many sofas in he recreational lounge. An eye was transfixed to the large television screen broadcasting a news report while the other continued gazing at the scenery of Ariadyne from above. Norad continues to bide his time by playing his signature harmonica to the tune of "Brand New Day" by the legendary Sting. His well played tune eventually attracted the attention of several female Federation operators, who giggled as they took their seats beside the renowned mobile suit ace pilot.

The scene was quickly followed with the introduction of several Federation mobile suit pilots. "Holy shit, you're Iceman Mercer!" Norad studies all five of them. By simply looking at their faces he already knew they were all green. "W-would it be cool if we took a picture with you, Major?" the shortest one asked as he nervously pulled out a Nikon digital camera from his back pocket.

"Yes, that's very cool." Norad responded, no pun intended.

Norad politely dismissed the ladies as all five pilots took their seats. "I don't want to see this on your Facebook page." said Norad before noticing one of the soldiers flash a peace sign. "Please, no gang signs." The soldier immediately puts his hand down, drawing a chuckle from Norad. "I'm kidding, I'm a man of peace, go ahead." A few camera flashes later and they were done.

"Now if you'll excuse me gentlemen, duty calls." said Norad when his eyes caught both Lynx and Ariana walking across the hallway outside.

Before leaving the recreational room, one of the female operators, a firecrotch, approached Norad and slips her calling card into his back pocket in a very sexy manner. "Call me." she whispered seductively into his ear. Norad grins as she turns around and he took a brief moment to study her figure before playfully spanking her buttocks. A soft moan escaped her lips in response.

Norad happily walked out of the lounge reading the calling card the female operator gave him. "Can you believe how many beautiful women have enlisted themselves as of late? God damn, I love my job." he thought to himself while walking towards Lynx and Ariana.

It was a bit boring, not being back on Fenril was a bit of a head dropper for some who weren't used to being away from the planet for so long. It had appeared as if, Jason would probably crack under the pressure of being so bored. As he made a left down a nice stretch of corridor, making a small sigh, the man looked up at the lights, not watching were he was going. Jason liked to daydream from time to time, though it got him in trouble in more ways than one. About ten feet down the corridor, a station officer was leaving one of the rooms on the left side. Before Jason could react, he had already bumped into the officer. Jason snapped out of the daydream only to find himself on the floor, taking note that he had no clue of what just happened. The officer Jason ran into was one of the stations commanding chain, the man was leaving the restroom and reacted to Jason when he didn't stop. Jason was given a pretty heavy flip to the floor, though he would survive. Jason looked up at the man and quickly got up to salute him, he straightened his uniform a bit before doing so, though the CO didn't seem to mind. Jason quickly apologized after the CO returned the salute.

"I am deeply sorry sir, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Jason said.

"Its quite alright, though you really should watch where you are going. I could have broken your back if I had flipped you any harder." The CO replied.

"It won't happen again sir. Excuse me, but could you please tell me your name. I'm not familiar with the Chain of command on this station yet and I don't remember many of the people." Jason asked.

"But of course, the names Carter. I'm a Captain for one of the ships that dock at this station." The Captain said.

"Thank you Captain, now if you'll excuse me I must be on my way." Jason Replied.

With another quick salute, Jason began walking down the corridor once more. As he turned another corner, her came to the recreational lounge. There wasn't much to do but he had to do something to make time go a little faster. Approaching the Lounge, Jason could see a couple people standing in the hallway. By the uniforms they wore, they were probably local ace pilots, Of course Jason didn't really care if they were aces or regulars. A pilot was a pilot and that was all that Jason cared about, though he was of duty he decided to make himself known.

"Excuse me? But would you guys happen to be regulars on this planets defense station?" Jason asked.

Before he could continue, Jason looked at the patches on the men, immediately straightening his posture and throwing up a salute to the Colonel and company.

[Hallway, Sector Seven, Orbital Fortress Aramis]

In the past, the thought of capturing a terrorist let alone eliminating one almost seemed impossible. Since the introduction of mobile suits, that task has become rather easy. Lynx was never fond of easy missions, as they never provided the satisfaction of achievement. If there was anything Lynx hated more than the Imps, it was terrorists and green collared mercenaries. He stared blankly at the scenic view of Ariadyne from orbit, knowing that he was about to embark on a mission he didn't even sign up for.

"I think it'll be nice if we stayed on Ariadyne for a while." Ariana cheerfully blurted out.

Lynx lets out a soft groan. "Yeah, at least you're not working." he muttered under his breath. "Seriously, we should get your father to talk some sense into some of the higher ups here." If there was anyone influential within Federation ranks, it was Ariana's father, the famous Admiral Oskar von Reuenthal.

Ariana shared her husband's concern. It was their ability to see eye to eye that convinced them to tie the knot. "Or have Federation High Command fire them and replace them with more capable individuals." she added while browsing through her PDA, looking through a list of high ranking officers deemed suitable to take charge of a military stronghold. "Dear, isn't that Norad?" At the mention of his friend's name, Lynx turned from looking at the scenic view of Ariadyne to that of the notorious Iceman, who was walking towards them.

"Norad, just how many ladies are you willing to go through before that lust of yours is completely satisfied? How many are you onto now, twenty two?"

Before Lynx could continue his conversation with Norad, he was interrupted by the presence of another Federation soldier in the area. From afar, it seemed the two of them are of the same age but Lynx could tell the man was older. It somehow felt ironic when a man few years his senior gave him a salute since Lynx, Ariana, and Norad were of higher rank. Lynx returned the gesture, as per military protocol.

"If you're looking for the regulars of this space fortress, soldier, then you should try the sandy beaches of Galaxia City or any viper infested bar located here. You can't miss them, not especially if you see a patron or two getting thrown out the door or through a glass window."

Lynx was swiftly interrupted by Ariana who elbowed him on the ribs. "Never seen you around these parts, are you new?" he asked while wincing in pain from his wife's attack. "Colonel Lynx Fenix, Tristan Armada, Commander of the 10th Special Operations Task Force." Lynx offered his hand, ready to shake the other from his fellow comrade-in-arms in the Federation.

As her husband introduced himself, Ariana followed suit. "Captain Ariana von Reuenthal-Fenix, also of the Tristan Armada, First Vanguard. I'm in charge of the flagship Hildebrand." she said, giving a salute of her own before wrapping her arms around her husband's. "And I'm also his wife." She cheerfully rests her head on Lynx's broad shoulders.

From the reaction Jason received from the man he had made contact with, it seemed it was an okay reaction. From the looks of the man, he was sort of younger. How that happened was beyond the imagination Jason had, but who was he to blame the higher ups, if he had the skill it was worth it. The man replied to Jason, making a comment to him about where to find the regulars. It was a bit funny, Jason never new of a CO that had any sense of humor, most of the COs Jason had ever met were either stubborn as a rock to make laugh or just had not sense of humor to laugh from.

In his head, Jason sighed, relieved that he wasn't yelled at or insulted by a CO. Back on Fenril the COs were probably not the nicest people in the world to know. Jason saw the man stick out his hand for a hand shake, he didn't wanna be rude and accepted the hand shake, sticking out his own hand to complete it. As he shook the mans hand, the guy introduced himself, stating his name as Colonel Lynx Fenix of the Tristan Armadas Tenth Special Operations Task Force. It was a good position, Jason respected that this man earned his position and accepted that even though the Colonel was younger than Jason he was gonna listen if the man ever became his operations commander.

Just then the lady standing next to him introduced her self as a Captain of the same Armada. It was nice to see military couples, but at the same time Jason thought it was kind of a weakness that made a solder hold back. But who was he to judge someone he had just met? perhaps it was a different story with these two, Jason would just have to find out when the time came.

"Yeah, I'm new to the planet, I was originally a Fenril ground operations pilot, but that changed when they transferred me. I don't know why here, but I'm sure its important." Jason said, replying to the Colonels question.

Lynx was always quick to make fun of Norad's lack of a significant other. Not that it was anything insulting, Lynx was after all a real cynical joker. "Her name's Stephanie Lockwell, Warrant Officer." Norad began as he continued reading the female operator's calling card. "Natural firecrotch without freckles. She's a real stunner, Lynx, I swear to God she really is." The Iceman takes a moment to glance into the recreational lounge he just left and saw the girl, Stephanie, waving back at him. "And it's twenty four, you prick." Norad was about to continue when Lynx and company were greeted by a fellow Federation soldier.

He wasn't a familiar face on Aramis but Norad immediately knew he was more than ordinary by simply gazing into his eyes. This man had seen bloodshed and he was a survivor. It was rare to find an individual like this among the many soldiers enlisted in the Federation.

"Norad Mercer, Major, Tristan Armada. I'm the Colonel's favorite lackey."

Norad's introduction was brief as he wanted to conduct an immediate background check on this soldier. He pulled out a pair of dark sunglasses from his pocket and wore them unsuspectingly. Norad's shades hid an Added Reality Interface normally used by intelligence operatives. "Spaak, Jason. Non-commissioned. Former Seventh Army mobile suit pilot on Fenril." thought the Iceman as the interface scanned the soldier's military ID card and displayed every detail throughout his tenure of service with the Federation.

"Damn, that's one bad apple he served under. Pretty surprising since the boys in the Seventh Army are mostly well behaved. This guy has some decent combat experience too. Participated in some skirmishes here and there. No registration in any major campaign. Guess his talents was inhibited a lot by his ex-CO. Most likely a Coordinator. Diamond in the rough, perhaps? Only one way to find out."

Norad deactivated the signature function on his sunglasses and leaned himself towards Lynx. "This guy looks like he has a lot of free time on his hands." he whispered in a rather serious tone. "Man's got some experience and our unit could use another pair of hands. Take him along for the ride, Lynx." While the decision ultimately fell into Lynx's hands, Norad was eager to strengthen his unit after losing a decent amount of comrades during the Eclipsor Prime campaign.

Lynx was certainly familiar with the Federation Seventh Army on Fenril. They have an amicable camaderie with the Beowulf and Tristan Armadas. Lynx also knew and befriended a couple of influential officers within their ranks. Before Lynx was able to fraternize with the soldier further, he was interrupted by Norad whose natural and usual habit of performing on the spot background checks had become a very common procedure. After all, Lynx expected the best from his unit, and preferred only the best to be a part of it.

"I want every detail regarding him later, capice?" he whispered back.

His attention then returned to the older soldier, whose name he has yet to learn. "Soldier, are you assigned to any unit on Aramis?" The latter specifically said he was transferred but did not mention the name of his unit which surprised Lynx a little unless someone up top was a little forgetful or had quite a beef to pick with this man. "If not, you are more than welcome to join us on a small errand we have to run for the higher ups on this space fortress." Lynx could always count on Norad for being his recruitment initiate. Hopefully he'd found a capable pilot.

"Honey, it's almost time to meet our envoy." Ariana chimed in.

With a flick of his wrist, Lynx took a quick glance at his watch. "All right, I'll be with you shortly." came Lynx's response before addressing the soldier again. "If you're interested, come meet us aboard the flagship Hildebrand in Dock 2A. We won't be departing anytime soon as she's currently undergoing some refuel and resupply. No need to rush yourself." With everything concluded, the Fenix couple excused themselves with an obligatory salute before proceeding back to their said vessel.

"Did you get in contact with Siegfried and Wolf?" Ariana asked.

Her husband shook his head in response. "Sieg just told me he's currently on a clean up mission at Lanza, so the two of them won't be joining us anytime soon I'm afraid." Which was a little disappointing since the four friends are currently separated performing meager tasks in between more important campaigns. "I sincerely hope Norad's suggestion turns out for the best. For all our sakes. And perhaps for his too." Lynx concluded, taking a brief look over his shoulder before continuing to walk towards his destination.

The atmosphere in the hallway was a bit high and relaxed, it had seemed everyone he had met just now were very respectable people. Jason studied the Colonels look up and down, trying to learn about the man just by his posture. This wasn't a trait many people had, just by looking art someones stance Jason could tell what kind of person someone was by looking. Some people would probably say he was judging someone by their cover, but in retrospect it was the other way around or so that was Jason's point of view.

As Jason listened to the three talking away, the Colonel asked Jason would like to join them in some errand running for the station. It wasn't every day a respectable higher up asked a low ranked ace pilot soldier a questions like that. With great enthusiasm, Jason decided to accept the offer as well as answer the question previously asked.

"No, Sir. I have no assigned unit just yet, come to think of it, I have no clue who I'm going to assigned too." Jason answered. "And umm, sure. This may be a good opportunity for me to learn how you guys conduct thing in these parts."

Jason was grateful to the three in front of him, they were much younger yet, more respected in terms of their rank and popularity. Jason wanted to be part of an inner circle like that so he took this a sign of an opportunity to impress some people as much as possible. Flashy wouldn't get him every result he wanted, but it would certainly be a good start.

[Acclamator Class Flagship Hildebrand, Dock 2A, Orbital Fortress Aramis]

It's been a long time since Lucien stepped foot within the walls of Aramis. He was recently assigned by Supreme Commander Romulus to become of the leaders of the Federation First Army. It was something Lucien was willing to accept since the Imperial Army's untimely resurrection under the new Knight of One had caused some unrest within High Command. News of his impending promotion to the rank of Brigadier General quickly reached his years. While it sounded rather pleasing, Lucien felt he had much to prove on the battlefield before accepting such a high position in the First Army chain of command.

Today he was sent to Ariadyne to meet up with one of the Tristan Armada's most prominent leaders and ace pilots, Colonel Lynx Fenix. It was Lucien's job to see and evaluate the progress of the Federation's finest units. He was familiar with the progress of Colonel Fenix since they first met as part of the united coalition that reclaimed Eclipsor Prime from the Imperial Army. Arriving at Aramis subtly in a interstellar space shuttle, Lucien wasted little time making his way towards Dock 2A where Colonel Fenix's flagship, the Hildebrand, was anchored.

As he approached the ramp leading up to the Acclamator class flagship, an armed soldier approached him, his machine gun raised. "Halt, state your name and ID-" At the sight of the cross and coiling snake isignia emblazoned on Lucien's red uniform, both the soldier's weapon and jaw hung. "W-What!? G-Gebler!?" As a member of the most elite force in the Solarian military, fear and intimidation was a normal sight to Lucien whenever he encountered someone new.

"Colonel Lucien Tyrael, 7th Enforcer Unit, Federation First Army."

Just in case his mere presence wasn't enough, Lucien flashed his military ID card staying true to military protocol. Having seen enough proof, the footman stands at attention and saluted Lucien. Looking over his shoulder, Lucien noticed a couple of passerbys doing the same. He was after all a respected member of the Federation High Command due to his friendship with the Supreme Commander and son of the Supreme Chancellor, Romulus Jugend. A long silence followed after his brief and quick introduction.

"T-The Scarlet Lightning!? Y-You're the Supreme Commander's adjutant! What brings y-you aboard the flagship H-Hildebrand today, sir?"

Lucien felt the urge to laugh at the soldier's sudden stammer but he was never too fond of humor within military ranks. "Personal business I have to attend to with Colonel Fenix." he responded while keeping his ID back into the left pocket of his scarlet red jacket. "Long story short Private, I am the envoy sent here by High Command." At the conclusion of his sentence, a few gasps were raised into the atmosphere. Lucien found it hardly surprising.

"A-Ah, of course! But C-Colonel Fenix and his missus have went ashore a few hours ago to meet Aramis Central Command. T-They will be back soon. I-I hope you don't mind waiting for a couple of minutes o-or hours, sir."

The news was rather surprising, as he remembered High Command approving the Colonel's request for some time off. "Fair enough, if they return tell them I'll be on the bridge." With the soldier remaining silent, Lucien brushed him aside and boarded the Hildebrand. He continued making his way towards the bridge, ignoring the salutes of his lower ranked peers along the way. There was little time for meet and greet. It was strictly business.

Punctuality was always the key to establishing a successful rapport and Lynx hated being late for a meeting. There was little time to fool around, since the envoy sent by High Command was from Gebler and the last thing Lynx needed on his agenda is the hierarchy of the elite Solarian task force breathing down his neck. As Lynx began to quicken his pace, he couldn't help but notice his wife browsing through the information of the elder pilot earlier, courtesy of the Iceman Mercer.

"Care to share the information Norad provided you, honey?"

Ariana hastened herself to catch up with her husband's pace as she handed to him her PDA. Lynx browsed through the soldier's details as his wife began speaking.

"Jason Spaak, a non commissioned soldier formerly of the Federation Seventh Army on Fenril. Quite a talented pilot but was never involved in any of the major campaigns this year. Had a little run in with his commanding officer and was soon transferred, albeit not by Jason's request."

Her description of the elder pilot gave more than enough information to deduce his identity. "A Coordinator." Lynx revealed, taking Ariana by surprise. "More importantly it seems that seeds of fear and hatred for Coordinators still run freely amongst the radicals. It's pretty sad." Genetic differences mattered little to Lynx. The greatest importance of a soldier was after all their ability.

Ariana shared her husband's concern. "I know, right?" She grew up around a couple of Coordinators herself and was accustomed to their genetic superiority. It never crossed her mind that she envied or feared them for who they are. "Why don't we take him in, Lynx? I'm sure Jason could use a fine leader like yourself, even if he is older than you." Ariana's suggestion surprised Lynx, since it was rare for her to give an opportunity like that.

It would take more than just potential to convince someone like Lynx. "The decision is not mine to make, Riana." he responded, knowing that her father and commanding officer, Oskar, called the shots. "It's not like we could adopt every homeless child we find in Terrapolis. We have our limits." Lynx began walking faster, now ahead of his wife who stopped momentarily. He stopped only after he couldn't hear the sound of her footsteps. Lynx looked over his shoulder and eyed his wife who had somewhat of a forlorn expression.

"But I'll talk to your father about this nonetheless."

With a smile returning to Ariana's face, the couple walked towards the Hildebrand. They were greeted by a different soldier at the entrance ramp as opposed to the one Lynx assigned. He was young but had a face chiseled with experience.

"Colonel Fenix! Captain von Reuenthal! The envoy sent by High Command has arrived! He spoke to Private Green earlier while you weren't around. Poor guy was intimidated by him. Not everyday do you see a bloke from Gebler coming over to your ship, especially not when he's an adjutant to the Supreme Commander. He's already aboard and waiting for the two of you by the bridge."

Nodding to one another, Lynx and Ariana saluted the soldier before heading up the ramp leading into the Hildebrand's main hull. "Thank you, Corporal. You may return to your post." said Lynx before moving towards his destination.

----------

[Bridge, Acclamator Class Flagship Hildebrand, Orbital Fortress Aramis]

The Hildebrand's bridge was bustling with chatter and plenty of movement as all operators were busy conducting their daily tasks. As the entrance to the bridge slides open, the operators immediately stopped working. There was a brief pause when Ariana and Lynx entered the bridge. The couple surveyed their surroundings and noticed the smiles on the faces of their crew, who were obviously delighted to see their commanding officers back where they belong. They immediately stood at attention and saluted the two senior officers.

"Officers on deck!"

Ariana and Lynx returned their salutes to their crew before the latter noticed a familiar figure sitting on the captain's chair, Ariana's chair. "I never expected the Scarlet Lightning himself to be our personal envoy." Lynx greeted the man, Lucien Tyrael, known by many in the Federation as the Scarlet Lightning. He fought side by side with this very individual during the beginning and the climax of the Eclipsor Prime campaign.

"On behalf of the Hildebrand's crew, her captain, and myself, I bid you welcome aboard, Colonel Tyrael."
