Well for starters I've basically promised everyone in the Warmaster community that I'll run a one-day tournie in February. So on that front I just need to find a free weekend and book it. It would be great if as many club members as possible coudl attend this.

We in the Warmaster community are more than happy to see new people playing, even if they have to borrow an army or use one that is basically just glued and undercoated. Drybrushed white for some definition helps, but is by no means necessary. So if you've ever fancied giving this great game a go, then this is your perfect opportunity to hit a nice steep learning curve and maybe pick up a wooden spoon whilst you're at it.

Warhammer, I was hoping to run a one-dayer the weekend before the Throne of Skulls in January, but the halls isn't available that day unfortunately, so the exact date is flexible. Again, member interest is I think very important, and just for the record it will be uncomped, possibly with the exception of banning SC's. If anyone has any preferences, ideas, maybe make it a campaign event rather than a straight-up tournie then obviously let me know. Likewise any help with organising it and running it would be very much appreciated, for starters I don't (yet) own all the army books...

40K. Well, with Luke I hope still planning on running a 40K campaign, it occured to me that maybe a 40K campaign day maybe in late Jan-early-Feb might be the perfect way to kick this off to a flying start. If we set an end date for the campaign, then we can also close it off and finish things with another campaign day. Obviously this very much depends on Luke's willingness to organise this, but I'll obviously help in whatever way I can if he does think that its a good idea, etc...

Basically I think that running events, tournies, campaign days and so on at least once every two months is going to be a key form of recruiting new members to the club, especially if we change our regular club sessions to Sundays. If we also change to monthly club membership fees of say £15, up the one-off fee to £6 to reflect moving from three to four hours, and then whilst you might charge £10 for an event with no food included, then for members only charge £5, and I think we're on to a winning formula. We can even have a regular monthly 'games day', and then if an event is organised for it great, if not then it's just a club session that lasts all day and people can arrange their own mini-campaigns etc....

All sounds very promising to me.

Count me in for the WFB and 40k tournaments/campaigns.

Lots of good points to be discussed at AGM. Should we stick with weekday (which I think there is appetite for) perhaps a monthly big Sunday session which could include tourneys or all day sessions for members wouldn't be too much of a stretch?

Happy to market this via forums/flyering etc. But am getting ahead of myself...

Key message - I'm on board! :D

If anyone else fancies running something just let me know. I'm always looking for mugs enthusiastic club members with interesting ideas for events to come forward to run them.

And then of course there is Salute and Games Day. I don't think that we've 'quite' got the manpower for either just yet, but running something at Salute would I think be a very good thing for the club to do if we can...
