Having now completed the Nagash Campaign weekend (fantastic thanks for asking (1 win one draw, three losses, and one recorded as a loss when we only got to the second round)), I have decided to put away the square bases and concentrate on 40k until i go back to OZ. With this in mind I have an idea I would like to run through the club. Some of you may recall that GW used to run summer campaigns, the idea being that people play their games and post the results online, and this decides the outcome of a narrative campaign. In theory this was great, in theory it meant that every game you played affected the outcome. In relaity of course they soon became so large and over subscribed, that most armies tended towards a mean of 50/50 and each persons individual games had no impact on the outcome. On a smaller scale however the ides is a solid one, so I would like to try doing something over 8 weeks from early april to end of may. All it will need is for people to play 40k games and PM me with the results, if you want to tell me more great but if not thats ok too. I will prepare a battle ground/ sector before we start, and try do up dates each fortnight, doesn't matter whether you play one game or 100 they will count and drive the story. I would be interested to hear how many peoplemight be interested in this, ieletting me turn the games they play into a broader narrative. |

OK, further to the above- and thanks Stomm for the expression of interest, I have thought further about this, and done up the following for 'Passion of the IMPquisitor' I would propose to pring up a few of these and (nick willing) leave them at GW Brent X, and also have them at wednesday nights for people to pick up, any other ideas? they are just rough at this stage but I se them being a on a4 or a5 flyer, to get people in. Passion of the IMPquisitor This is an ‘all comers’ Narrative Campaign, run and administered through North London Imps. This summer, from 1st May to 30th June the Finchley Sector will be torn apart by war. Every race in the Warhammer 40k world can be there and every battle you fight can make a difference. How do I take part? Easy, play Warhammer 40 K, sign onto the North London Imps forum, and send a PM to Ogrematt, letting him (me) know what happened, it can be as short as Ultramarines beat Necrons, or as long and as detailed as you like with full army lists and blow by blow descriptions of the battle, either way that fight will effect the story and the ultimate outcome of the campaign. I like stories though so the more detail you give me the more weight it will likely have. Who reports the game me or my opponent? Either of you but preferably not both, if only one of you is on the imps forum then only one can but do let me know who your opponent is. Must I join the North London Imps Forum? Yes, North London Imps is our local games club, in order to survive as a club it needs members, and people being active within the club, join the forum, if you like what you see come along to the club, this campaign is about telling a big story, it is also about giving you some context to your games but it is also about advertising the North London Imps Gaming Club, and I don’t apologise for that. ‘Support the people who Support your Hobby’ How many games must I play? One, at least, otherwise there is nothing to report, but as many as you like bear in mind that these will be individually scrutinised, anything more than one game a day is likely to raise suspicion unless it is half term. What do I Get out of it? Fun, a chance to be part of a bigger story, some great battle tales to tell your grandchildren. We have all played lots of games and if you are happy ending a game knowing that you 1,500 points of Imperial Guard beat your opponents 1,500 points of Eldar then fine, if however you would prefer it if the brave soldiers of the Hessien 19th Legion (the Glorious Irons) fought a desperate rearguard against a force of degenerate xenos, which ultimately bought time for the imperial army supported by the 3rd company of the dark angels to regroup and counterstrike against waagh Fezzdakka, then this is for you. How will the Story be told? An introduction page will go up on the Impfest Forum on 1st May 2010, this will set the scene for the campaign. Then every two weeks until the end of June I will write an update, what happens in that update and in each intervening two weeks will be determined by the submissions I receive. You can have an effect in a number of ways, you could decide, ‘I want to stop the Tau from expandingtheir emipre this close to Ultramar’ and decide to play games only against Tau opponents, you and your opponent may decide before the battle that there is a particualr campaign reason you are fighting, you might have the fight afterwards and then come up with a story for it, whatever feel free to suggest things in your submissions, or you might decide to just play your games and let us decide what happens, either way is good. Who Decides the winner? We all win. Yuou get to play 40K,I get to tell a story, North London Imps get some publicity... but seriously, whether an army or faction has fulfilled its campaign objecties will depend largely on the total number of games won by that army, and the needs of the story, but its not about winning, most of you are english you should know that the brave defeat often makes a better story than a win. |

Actually I can even set up a sub-forum for you to use for this if you like? That way we can have a results submission section, a story telling bit, weekly update or whatever you want really. I can even give you mod powers and the like to help with things. Just let me know what you think you might need and I'll try to get it sorted out ASAP. Well probably after the Easter break once I've got the girls back at nursery anyway... |

I'll be at the club on 14th april and perhaps we could discuss then if people are around, I think a separate 'passion of the impquisitor' page or section might be useful but whther i need mod powers is something else, it might help but i'll need some training, I will post new ideas and thoughs here until we are sorted. |

Matt has emailed some fliers to Dave and myself, and they do look absolutely splendid. There is also an enigmatic background piece for those of an imperial nature. Keep eyes posted here for more details Luke |

What armies are people thinking of using in the campaign? I have my marines which could be used as either loyalist or chaos, eldar and daemons. I will probably use the marines, but I haven't used my eldar for over a year. So I am unsure. regards and best wishes Luke |

I'm going to try getting my Black Templars into shape. I really need to finish converting a Marshal and finish off my squads. |

more black templars? You do know that The Emperor's champion is bit of a chicken, he ran away from Lucius, coward. If I am using my Kiddies during the campaign I will have to try and arrange a game with you and Damian. A last stand with reserves coming in kind of operation. If you are up for it let me know and we can discuss it with him next week. It does sound a bit cool. Regards and best wishes Luke |

Well I've only got 2 3/4 models in my Black Templars army painted, but its still my most complete 'new era' 40K army by a long shot. The only other 40K models I've got are some dribs and drabs from my original Rogue Trader era Space Marines, a Dark Angel Techmarine and a single Praetorian Guardsman... |

I've pretty much set my sights on a Renegade Daemonhunter force, Inquisitor and Daemonspawn and I figured using the new Blood Angels as my main force (only calling them Relicators? the marines that use chaos against chaos) I think the crazy assedness of the blood angels links quite closely to a chapter thats spent a year too many in the Eye of Chaos.

Guys, On the website www.northlondonimps.org I have ste up a downloadable link to the flyer. I have unfortunately broken my printer, so have not been able to print any flyers out, I am happy to go to a print place and get a couple of dozen run off, but in terms of distribtion if anyone with a colour printer could maybe print off a few and take them into a likley GW stor. They are meant to be folded, which is why the front page looks kinda backward |
