Dave and Dave have been doing well with the fantasy side of things tourny wise so I was wondering if anyone thought there would be any interest in a one day 40k teams league

What I figure format wise would be

Teams of 3 players each with 1,500 point armies.

Each 'match' would involve three single games (team that wins the toss gets to pick the match ups), which would result in a score ie 3-0, 2-1 etc.

Points will be award as per football (four points for a win, two for a draw)

Each team plays three matches and the winner is the team with the most points
In the case of a tie league winner is decided on 'goal difference'

the games themselves would be one on one games so a team would not need to be a faction or all imperial, or all orks, it is just three games banding together for points purposes.

On a small scale this could work for 4- 6 teams.

Any thoughts, I am working les strenuosly over the next few months and could work on this if there was felt to be enough interest.

We can fit ten tables in our current setup, so with that you're limited to twenty players max. So having teams of three, then you're limited to a theoretical maximum of six teams.

That's the logistics size-wise sorted. If you think you can run it and that there is enough interest to get at least three teams, pick a date and I'll try booking the place. I guess that ideally we'd want at least a month's lead-time from booking to event itself, to allow for advertising in stores, getting the word out and so on.

And of course I'm sure that we can utilise the two tables in what was christened the 'utter fail' room (IIRC) at the WH event for club pickup games, I've been wanting to do a Space Hulk marathon for ages for example...

Or, there might be the possibility of tagging it onto the two day Warhammer event we're looking to do at the end of July-begining of August. It would have to be a two-day event though, to justify the expense in getting new boards etc... Unless of course it could be combined with a 2nd one day event on the other day of the weekend? Hmm, now actually that's not too bad an idea...
