I am amused by this quote from an article in today’s Daily Mail:

"But at least her (latest) victim had the satisfaction of seeing his assailant in the dock and ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation."

Some seven years ago my car was damaged to the tune of £850 by a local yob jumping on the roof and bonnet. The police did a magnificent job of catching him and he was ultimately imprisoned (being a serial offender) and was ordered to pay me £585 pounds damages.

So far I have received £25 and recently I contacted the court to find out what has happened. I was told he had been imprisoned for non-payment of COURT fines and they had taken this opportunity to "write off" my damages, without consulting me (the victim) or indeed doing anything to notify me at any time since the offence. All the information I have obtained has, except for one occasion, been initiated by me. I wonder if I can claim my damages from the Justice Department as they seem to be very benevolent.

I have just been scanning "cyberspace" for contacts to complain to about this above and so far as I can see, if I was the "offender", I can complain about anything but as I am a victim I cannot complain about the decisions made by the Court system. I am beginning to suspect that the word justice is not in the Justice System's vocabulary. Roll on the revolution!

Sorry for the rant but I really am getting pissed off about the UK........and I live there! <grrr>

Vote UKIP - Not guaranteed but it might add some common sense to the pot.

Hi Pasta, I am really considering UKIP. I don't agree with everything they say but I feel that the "ruling elite" need a short, sharp shock to remind them that they serve the people and not their own political dogma to the detriment of the majority of the population.

Before the Politically Correct readers accuse me of racism and other 'isms I would just point out that my wife is from Jamaica and I do a lot of unpaid work for supporting families and children in the developing world and my brother is now my sister after undertaking full transgender surgery.

PS. My wife says she is definitely voting for UKIP.

Hi Rob,

I had something similar when I paid a deposit on a new car and before it was delivered the company declared bankruptcy. I registered myself with the administrators as a creditor but by the time the tax people and the big companies had had their share there was nothing left for me. Still, life's a bitch and then you die!

That sucks hard man. Sorry to hear that. It's horrible to have that happen when you are just starting out, when every dollar is vital.

It is annoying when companies and entities you don't know rip you off. We have all experienced that if we sign up for any public service such as cable TV, internet, etc. They charge us fully, even if we don't get full service.

What is really annoying is when people you have known for 20 years rip you off. I had two of those. Ty Chan from General Electric took me for over US$100,000 on a bull shit deal. The GE equipment I bought could never have worked. He personally promised me he would take responsibility for his side (technology and deal with subsidiary of China water ministry). He lied and stopped taking my calls when I was trying to get him to keep his word. Never trust Ty Chan or GE.

The other was Peter Holicza from Vancouver Canada. I put US$260,000 into his project. I introduced him to additional investors and he arrived the day of my heart attack. He took the investors and cut out me and the inventor of the technology. If I had the money I would have sued him, but a market crash in 2008 wiped me out. I would still like to rip his face off, and I suspect if I ever see him again, he will have broken bones.

We move on, but we never forget those that rip us off, especially if they pretend to be friends and honorable.

And by the way, Peter was broke when he brought me his deal. I gave him US$45,000 for his personal use for about 13 months tax free.

As to UKIP, it is a common sense party. If you really listen to Nigel, he isn't advocating too much that is radical or different. Much is stay the course, however his big thing is he wants true democracy and not the fake shit we have now.

He wants extended use of referendums. He has his positions, but really what he is saying is we should all have a chance to vote on things line-by-line and on an issue by issue basis. Instead of this nonsense of voting for a person and we have to accept the full suite of nonsense they peddle, most of which is buried anyway.

This is why I adore Nigel and UKIP. They are really bringing democracy and accountability back to the people.

And as an aside: The EU has never issued audited financial statements. That guarantees something wrong. No exception and no doubt.
