Apparently, before this race (Spain), Red Bull have changed the chassis of Vettel's car for one that he used in testing because Ricciardo has outperformed him so far this season, so the hope was that maybe he would be more comfortable in a different one.

On Friday, he did four installation laps and then the car developed a major electrical fault that meant a vast quantity of wiring had to be changed, resulting in the complete loss of the rest of the first session and second session of practice.

In quali, the car expired in Q3 with some sort of drive issue.

Apart from wrecking the weekend, what has this exercised actually achieved? It seems quite clear the team has accidentally given Ricciardo Vettel's car for the year, and all the others are faulty ones that would have been destined for Mark Webber had he not gone off to race Porsches.....

Isn't just easy to swap seats before Spain et voila? Anyway, I am happy for Ricciardo.
