Merecedes applauded Lewis like he just hit a four at a test match.

I seriously never though Ricciardo would be as good as he has turned out to be. It makes me wonder whether Webber was genuinely coming to the end of his life in F1 or whether he was seriously being held back or what.

Kimi's the first team mate to out-qualify Nando in 10 years!

Seriously? That is some record.

I'll qualify that by adding 'on this circuit'..

The last was Jarno Trulli

I guess it's worth noting that Alonso has never had a team mate capable of threatening him. . . . until now.

Me too <blush>

I think the difference is that Vettel is struggling with the new car and rules.

Riccardo has no memory of what the Red Bull was like in 2013 so perhaps this is helping him??

I think Vettel is driving the same as 2013 but the car is not as it once was.

According to Horner, Vettel's pace comes from his entry into the corners. With the energy capture, the feel of the car is totally different and it's unpredictable. He said Seb said the car isn't 'talking to him'.

I guess that's what comes with having a car designed around you and not one that has to fulfil stringent new regulations..

Edit:

Although it's the same for all established drivers and the others seem to have come to terms with it.

Perhaps Seb should ask for some 'filming days'

Makes me wonder about both Webber AND Vettel.
It may after all be down to that Red Bull car being so much faster than the rest those previous years? <think>

Ferrari drivers reported same issue with their car, being very unsteady in all braking zones. Not sure if they have solved it yet. The kinetics adding braking power on top of the hydraulic disc brakes is challenging to smooth out and further balance optimally versus the front brake forces.

Seb relegated to 15th after a gearbox change...

The cup that runneth over is indeed dry!

Perhaps they need the secret recipe after all...
