The Mercedes intra-team battle for the title

Rosberg said two days ago that him and Hamilton would sit down to clear the air before this weekend's Chinese GP. Especially Rosberg's complaining on the radio at last race on Hamiton's aggressive defensive moves would probably take some explanation:

The only example which I thought was above the limits was when I came on the radio.  All the other examples were really tough racing but with the necessary respect.  It was the rate at which he was pushing me out, because if the rate is too fast I will struggle to avoid an accident.  If you're on the inside then you're the boss.  It's your corner as long as you're in front.

It's completely normal that as a team (to have such talks), when there are situations or races where a lot has happened and there are intense battles, you are going to sit down and discuss them.  We make sure everybody knows everybody's opinions, we review and then completely put it behind us.

But today after Hamilton sat fastest lap in FP2 and was asked about if those discussions had taken place, he simply just said "No".

Nico has a great chance to win the title this year but he really needs to go beyond friendship with his teammate. Hamilton is on a mission to win his second world title. That should be clear enough, nothing to discuss.
Hamilton is Rosberg's main rival for the title so Rosberg will need to beat him on the track, not by chatting in the tea room. Hamilton might catch up in points already this weekend. Looking forward to the fireworks!

I disagree, I don't think Nico has any chance to wind the title. I argue if not for a bad seal, Lewis would be sitting on 75 points and a near lock for the WDC, even this early in the year.

Lewis is a great driver (and a first class prat), he's in a great car. Nico is a good driver. With out having to battle other teams, Lewis has a clear path to leave Nico behind.

We shall see. Taking each race in isolation, you'd bet on Hamilton winning in a straight fight. Over a season, not sure. If he keeps his head, yes. If Rosberg runs him close and wins a few races, or if he has a few bad breaks, it will be interesting to see how he reacts. A few years ago, he would go to pieces, but I think he's matured very significantly since his early days.

Maybe its just wishful thinking from my side, that the WDC 2014 race is not all done and over after just 3 races. <please>

I have a nasty horrible feeling that a certain 'Austrian' team will start coming good.

As long as the races continue to be wet...

I think we'll see a huge upset due to the bloody stupid points nerf!

Vettel has at least been very humble saying that if Ricciardo is faster he'll have to accept it. Ricciardo does seem to be on it. I didn't like him at TR but he is growing on me at RBR.

I think a few teams will make ground, just hope it's not too late.

It probably is. Merc will, with out a super run of bad luck, take both titles. The only questions are can Nico mount a charge and make Lewis work for it, and how many many races will Merc not win?

Mercedes are the fastest team out there but the rest are catching up. Red Bull especially look good but the Renault engine needs more power.

Ferrari with Alonso had a good race but Kimi again was pretty poor.

I just hope Rosberg ups his game to beat that really annoying Lewis.

His sucking was annoying but now he has the best car I am about to cancel my Sky <roflmao>
