F1 DRIVERS; WEIGHT ISSUES

After watching another IMO boring race I did overhear Martin Brundle mentioning that drivers are struggling and looking ill by having to lower their weights for the new cars.

Alarming to hear that a driver who he would not disclose was at a press conference during this weekends GP collapsed after given the press conference due to the amount of weight he has lost.

Now if drivers are having to lose this extreme amount of weight and are collapsing out of the car surely it must raise safety concerns for them during a race.

Others during the weekend have mentioned how noticeable gaunt the drivers are this year.

This is all very well outside of the car but some drivers like Lewis today had not ran a car for a race distance especially in very hot conditions when you are going to lose even more weight.

The problem now is if the cars weight was to be increased the designers would use the increase as basis rather than allowing the drivers to gave weight.

We are going to land up with a grid full of skeleton by the end of the year.

Thoughts???

Is it the rules or the designers that are punishing the drivers?

The subject of weight came up over the winter and seemingly nothing was done to alter it. The safety of drivers should always take a priority but it seems to have been overlooked this time.

It'll end up like 'Ender's Game' except we'll have 12 year olds driving simulators and the race will be CG'd in super-high definition....

Of course the 12 year olds will be 3x the weight of a current F1 driver..
