They may be really bad on starts.

http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/307252/...oon-says-marko/
Discussing Renault's issues in more detail, Marko said: "We are struggling with turbo lag. You step on the gas, but the power does not arrive. It comes all of a sudden; the wheels spin, the car slides and you lose speed."

On a circuit like Albert Park, this could be devastating.

On which circuit would you not need to step on the gas pedal? <dunce> :)

Monaco?

Monza! Just put a brick on the pedal and concentrate on steering.

Seems a bit odd when you consider it was Renault who pioneered the turbo engine for F1 last time around. That, as I recall, suffered from woeful lag in the late 70s, but they sorted it and then if you weren't a turbo engined team, you were toast. Surely they haven't lost all their notes?

knowing the French they were probably scribbled on the back of a pack of Gitanes long since smoked.

They surrendered it to Mercedes.

Not sure whether to quote this or the Gitanes item. Both are worthy images.

Seriously though, am I allowed to say "tee hee"?

I don't mind Renault, but I am really enjoying pre-season testing. RBR are not Ferrari and they should never win 5 in a row. Ever. Never, ever. Todt should put this in the new regs, as well as items banning swastika bearing johns.
