The track has become much faster late this afternoon compared to this morning. The drivers knowing this is their last day/chance before Melbourne now driving the last 15 minutes of the day and in a much higher pace than previously seen!

Toro Rosso and Caterham have shown that the Renault power unit does work, so it appears down to Red Bull and Lotus design decisions that they are in trouble. <think>

How they finished on day two
6) Jules Bianchi (Marussia) 1:38.092

Laps completed on day two
6) Jules Bianchi (Marussia) 75

<think> <please> I see two...

I am sorry pedantic John but this time I have you ;)

Mentioning would suggest saying something of note regarding his performance, those are just inclusions in the statistics and seriously . . . . not the same thing.

I think it's worth mentioning that he finished in a decent place in the scheme of things and while we all know that everyone is running different packages he still didn't come dead last.

So I believe that u4coffee's post qualifies as a mention... but it is not really important either way.

As for his place 'in the scheme of things'.... one word springs to mind... testing :)

I freely admit it was not a bad days work for Marussia but not to detract from their achievement it was flattered in part by the problems of the Renault teams... if he can finish higher than 11th at any race this season then I will be impressed... not long to go now.

Final day of testing before the season kick off with first race 2 weeks from now.

And Vettel/Red Bull just completed driving a full test lap and returned to the pits with the car's own power! <bow>
So like double the distance they managed the entire day yesterday. :P

3 hours into final testing and we have the first red flag of the day.

Vettel has gone off at turn1, smoke coming out from the back.
Fire extinguishers being used. RB Mechanics then covering up and mobile crane lines up to bring the car back to the pits on the truck. Something like 44 laps in total so far today for Vettel.

Btw Hamilton/Mercedes not yet out today as they are fixing a gearbox problem.

Grosjean/Lotus stopped out on track, causing the second red flag of today.

Lunch break and data so far:
Bottas 1:34.797 / 60 laps
Alonso 1:35.509 / 27
Hulkenberg 1:35.577 / 33
Vergne 1:35.701 / 43
Sutil 1:36.467 / 91
Button 1:38.111 / 20
Hamilton 1:38.650 / 5 (was just running last 18 mins)
Kobayashi 1:38.653 / 58
Grosjean 1:39.302 / 26
Vettel 1:39.708 / 44
Chilton 1:41.242 / 10

Test results today, with just 1 more hour to go:
Bottas 1:34.797 / 90 laps
Hamilton 1:35.473 / 34
Alonso 1:35.509 / 44
Hulkenberg 1:35.577 / 73
Vergne 1:35.701 / 56
Sutil 1:36.467 / 91
Gutierrez 1:37.303 / 44
Button 1:38.111 / 21
Kobayashi 1:38.653 / 101
Grosjean 1:39.302 / 32
Vettel 1:39.708 / 64
Chilton 1:41.242 / 32.

So finally Vettel/Red Bull is getting some mileage, though at reduced speed...

Grosjean's Lotus went on fire twice today. Not sure he will be back today after the last big one 1hour after lunch.

There has been added extended testing time today, due to the many red flag periods. So we have approx. 1 hour more to go.

Button appear stuck at 21 laps for McLaren due to engine problem.

Bahrain Day 4 Final Test Results:
1) Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) 1:33.278 - 69 laps
2) Valtteri Bottas (Williams) 1:33.987 - 108 laps
3) Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) 1:34.280 - 74 laps
4) Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) 1:35.577 - 74 laps
5) Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso) 1:35.701 - 74 laps
6) Adrian Sutil (Sauber) 1:36.467 - 91 laps
7) Max Chilton (Marussia) 1:36.835 - 61 laps
8) Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber) 1:37.303 - 86 laps
9) Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) 1:37.468 - 77 laps
10) Jenson Button (McLaren) 1:38.111 - 22 laps
11) Kamui Kobayashi (Caterham) 1:38.391 - 106 laps
12) Romain Grosjean (Lotus) 1:39.302 - 32 laps

Think Lotus made the least total test mileage of all. Ending every day in Bahrain on 30-33 laps. At least in that area they perform consistently.
