No link yet, but Auntie Beeb reports that news has just broken of Bernie winning the court case about the bribery thing.....

Judge said the deal was iffy, but the company suffered no loss as a result. Might have a bearing on the other trial, then.

there was one part of the article that had me mystified for a moment

This case was a civil case. Bernie didn't win per se. It is just that the plaintiff didn't prove losses.

What it did show is that a judge will not buy Bernie's argument that he didn't pay a bribe, but rather just blackmail on the tax threat.

I never bought it, and most people wouldn't.

Clearly now a judge doesn't. His phrasing was pretty condemning.

Bernie is trying to white wash this but he is on paper thin ice right now.

It looks like a terribly sad ending to a brilliant career. He must be thinking "if only I was straight with those banks...."

I expect him to fight a personal appearance in Germany now. Hard to say but he could do some time.
