With all those major new regs/designs/power unit specs etc for 2014, do any team really dare to sandbag in the very few short testing runs they have before Melbourne?

Red Bull surely runs away with the prize then for ultimate sandbagging:

Their garage in Bahrain until midday yesterday...
While many other teams in same morning hours alone ran more mileage than Red Bull has done combined so far this entire year.

This year sandbagging could be a major back fire.Teams may not be running flat out yet, but I don't think anyone is going slow to catch out other teams.

If you went into the garage you'd find 3 guys smoking rollups with flat caps sat around a crate playing cards they are that confident ;)

I think today (Friday 21st) was the first day that Mercedes and McLaren were working on set up for pace. Prior to that I think most teams were working on finding reliability problems.

Having said that Magnussen (sp?) was on the super softs, as was Hulkenberg the day before. So maybe they were working on set up as well. Don't know.

In any case I think next day or so we will get a better idea of pace of the top cars (not including RBR of course - tee hee) but probably not really until the next test.
