Well it looks like my car has won stump the mechanic. A transmission specialist might be in my future...

I feel your pain as both my car and bike had work last month which cost me nearly £800... both drive better for having the work done but still I could have done without the expence.

I thought it was a fairly new motor... is it still under warranty?

This is the older car. 2003 Kia, and it is out of warranty, significantly.

I recently serviced my bike myself. It took me ages, but did explain why even a trained motorcycle technician needs a whole day to do it. However, it did save me about £350 in labour and I'll be able to do it quicker next time. :-)
