Charlie Whiting in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport said:

"If the lights are not installed at a flag post the driver responds to the first signal that is shown. In Vettel's case, between the last yellow light and the green light there was a green flag being waved. The distance is 350 metres here. Vettel responded to the flag and did everything right."

Hopefully this will be an end to it.

Indeed, but let's face it, Vettel was overtaking no one, even if it had been under yellows, he'd probably want to know why he was being punished for doing nothing.

just in case <sarcasm>

The FIA responded on Friday morning to explain the situation, and Ferrari is now happy that the issue has been put to rest.

Can't we drag it out a bit longer, infact it would have been much better if the evidence was inconclusive but that Vettel was declared innocent.

That would have provided us with years of entertainment doubting the validity of Vettel's claim to the 2012 title and how Alonso was unjustly robbed, with side arguments on how horner is a smug git and RBR are just cheats.

Have you posted in the right forum.... <think>

It's a funny video but it's relevance to the topic in hand eludes me. <huh>

Its a stupid topic, as they are not going to change the result.

Had Todt still been in charge of Ferrari, it would have been a RED HOT TOPIC.

The final result would have been Vettel crying to the press because Todt would have explored every avenue and made it drag on until he got the result he wanted, regardless of image that gave out.
He was ruthless, without feeling but got results.
Stefano wants to be everybody's mate, so I can only guess Alonso who is more ruthless than Stefano pushed for the 'clarification'! A gesture to appease Alonso.

Had Todt still been in charge with Alonso driving, they would have street fought way past the point everyone else would have given up. Alonso IMO is capable of being more ruthless than MS ever was and with a boss like Todt in charge would have been capable of anything. I don't forget he was in the middle of spygate with Mclaren and Crashgate with Renault.

I would never want a boundary dispute with Todt !!

Therefore I thought I would post something that is as silly as this thinking Vettel was going to lose his title, the silly thing being - Hitler singing Gangham style ;)

Pity. There are yet too many days until the next GP.
