How old are you? Seriously....! Vettel has shown over the season that even when things might be going against him he is capable of pulling a result out of the bag. Yes he had a better car and some would say better luck than Alonso but he made sure he used all that to his advantage. In a strange way I think Alonso has been even more impressive than he was in his championship seasons. Alonso deserves another title to his name and hopefully the 2013 Ferrari will deliver for him. Todays race summed up Hamilton's season really, no luck when it mattered, a situation that has become quite tiresome over the past few years. I believe his move is needed if only just to change his awful luck. |

mind your own business.... Alonso ended up second because he never gives up and still came within 3 points of the championship... It was his DNF that sealed his championship. Vettel aslo demonstrated today that he won't give up either and fought he way back into the title. Ferrari have ended the season as a strong team so if Massa can start 2013 on the same kind of form as he ended 2012 then the RBR could lose both championships to the scuderia. |

I generally take them one race at a time, enjoy individual races and the title as such interests me little. I don't necessarily like the way in which he did it, but ultimately he did it and Vettel deserves his titles. Youngest this that and the other is meaningless these days because he achieved what he did before Hill for example even entered the sport. Kids are corporate trained into the sport and Vettel and Hamilton are the new breed of bred for by brand athletes. I think Alonso showed his calibre also this year. He had two rather unfortunate not his fault DNFs and every race drove with class and determination and acted with a great deal of dignity, something I think Vettel lacked when things were not going his way. Vettel only really came into contention as a result of FA's bad luck and the turn around in the fortune of his Newey Mobile. Well done Vettel, I think he drove a great race to keep himself in the title, despite cutting up Senna (although unsighted) causing an accident and incidents in Abu Dhabi. Nonetheless, if nothing else, he beat his team mate in equal machinery and that alone is sufficient. Webber (at least we'd like to believe) had equal opportunity to do what Vettel did but didn't. As for John, I am guessing in his early 20s, John has clearly stated who he follows and why and I don't see why he shouldn't celebrate, though I would prefer that he'd find a more balanced footing when entering debates and not be so sarcastic all the, he has at least refrained from picking up on trivialities such as typos to make negative comments. I enjoyed today, I predicted, if only to myself that Button stood a good chance of winning, because when he qualifies so close to Lewis it bodes well as he races better. Though not always. Plus he like Hulk tends to go well in Brazil as he won his title here and like I now know of Hulk is v.good in marginal conditions as his cruising by Hamilton showed. I felt for both Hulk and Lewis as it was a shame a great race between those three was spoilt by a minor slip, although Lewis did appear to stop Hulk from a full spin and no doubt saved his race ultimately, but Lewis might as well get used to disappointment now. I do also feel Lewis will come to regret his decision if he isn't already as I still have doubts that the Mercedes will ever come good. Even after the win this year they never showed any promise whatsoever. I do fear that Lewis will slip from the sport with not much more to his name as he may not enjoy not competing at the front and will allow it to affect his spirit and ultimately his performance. I hope not. And Button. What a way to start the new season

And talking of dignity, I am saddened by the calibre of "debate" on this thread following the race. Either of the two drivers in contention would have been a worthy champion. Personally I felt that Nando "deserved" it more, but I am quite happy with Seb as 2102 champion. |

I am guilty of slagging of Vettel at times, but it's just because I am jealous.![]() When I think hard about it, generally people might achieve trivial things by luck and even winning a lottery is not guarantee of any degree of higher worth, but 3 titles is not something that simply falls into your lap. |

I'd be happier with Vettel as champion if there wasn't persistent suspicion that his car appears to be bending the rules in a manner which the FIA are simply unable to police. However, that it not his fault. He's given a car, and his job is to go as fast as possible in it, which he does very well. Apart from when it's crap, when he tends to make silly errors, much like Hamilton used to do. If he could sort that out, and the tendency to have the odd issue when overtaking, he'd be pretty much flawless. You'd have to say that unless one of the other teams can up their game, maybe with the 2014 regs, it's looking like he could easily approach or exceed a lot of Schumacher's records. Let's hope that doesn't happen, otherwise John's signature will go past the fold in the page....

I don't think RBR will have it their own way, I expect Mclaren to fix their problems and for Lotus to gain momentum and consistency. Mclaren's big problem will be whether Button can up his qualification, because when they give him a good car, he can match Lewis in the race, when he doesn't qualify well, he races well, but rarely stands a chance of catching Lewis. Ferrari could do it, but they need to improve their car. |

I perdict... Ferrari will be back stronger in 2013, Alonso and a strong Massa would be formidable... they just need a slightly improved car. McLaren should continue in good form with Button, (the weakness may be his team mate, we see time and again the championships require a good no.2 to assist them) Lotus will not (hopefully) have the assistance of such an caotic start to the season so I expect them to be 5th best. Kimi is good for points and even a win if the conditions are right but I still think he needs to change teams if he wants another WDC title. Mercedes will improve over this season, but I suspect they will be working towards 2014. I more hopeful than some that Lewis will not implode. RBR will continue to remain on top but if this wasstill mid season based on their current form they have a bit of catching up to do. Williams.... who? 110 days and counting |

I think Williams need a better driver than Senna, he was a best occasionally solid, and annoyingly fast when not needed, ie when Button needed to pass him. Maldonado imo even though I am not really a fan, I think he is a dark horse. I think he has a lot of potential. Very fast in qualification which we know can mean a lot. I liked and hoped for Senna, but ultimately he has not shone/shined. Maldonado has. However, I don't think either have been confirmed. Hope the team continues its albeit slow growth. |

It is not inevitable that Williams will decline however it's last championship was 1997 and while it was great to see them win again the last real win was 2004. Most peopleI think would like to see them move back up the field (myself included) but few believe it will happen anytime soon. |
