I know it's a big if but I could well have seen Button beating Lewis this race

Very big if but yes, Button could have thrashed Lewis there. That reminded me of a Schumacher style dominated race. Vettel merrily out front and nothing much going on behind.

9 others did, so why not.

Great race as far as I'm concerned... Vettel equals the great Jim Clark, first hat trick of 2012 and takes the lead in the championship for the first time.

Great drive by Webber to keep a strong Alonso at bay...

You would have to be a Vettel fan to consider it a great race. Obviously once my interest in the race was out my interest wains but seriously, not a lot happened once Vettel passed Webber and that happened off the start line. Strange that init?

Vettel does know how to dominate for sure. I feel for Alonso in a way, he never had the out and out best car and put in a very consistent and often times feisty or great performances just to have it all blown away once Newey put a new toy on the car.

I see the usual lack of candour when it comes to a Vettel win. It seems that 25 GP wins and potentially 3 consecutive WDC titles are not enough for the obviously over achievers on here.

What a joke. <doh>

Sorry John, I'm sure you said that for fishing purposes and I have bitten..

No way, not even in the same breath! Put Vettel in Jim Clarke's Lotus and his lap time would be nowhere near. Even after acclimitisation.

You could claim vice versa, but any F1 driver today worth his salt could match Vettel in the Red Bull

Newey would have made no difference if Alonso had not been crashed out of two races by other drivers errors.
Last week took the biscuit, first corner and that was that

Nope, I was merely congratulating Vettel on equalling Clarks tally of 25 career GP wins/ which is simple fact... Vettel is a great driver but this tally is in part down to the sheer number of chances to win in a season and the fact he stands an almost 100% chance of surviving. each race without injury or death (as was the case for Jim.

I am on record as stating Clark to be IMO the greatest driver of any era above Schuamcher, Senna or Fangio. Vettel is as far as I am concerned still moving from very good to great but we are a few years off that at the moment.

Come on John, I know you are a Vettel fan and he has proved his critics wrong to a degree for sure, but it always boils down to who has the best car, but just look at Alonso and Kimi, not sure of the standings, but I think he might be third, he hasn't even won a race.

When Vettel has a good car under him it's all lovey dovey, when he doesn't huffing and puffing with the rest of them.
