I mentioned a few weeks back on another thread that I'd read an interview with Schumi where he said it'd be doubtful if he would drive next year as he wanted to take his private pilots license (PPL) and concentrate on acrobatic flying..

Erm, I'm a little out of touch... is this a reference to some of his rather spectacular crashes, or has he really said this?

<blush>

So Schumacher should not have come back to F1.

He is too old and should have retired before now.

But then Jackie goes on to say:

Juan Manuel Fangio didn't come to Europe to race until he was 39, yet won five world championships.

Please retire your tongue Jackie  <grrr>

Personally, I can't stand Jackie Stewart....or is it his silly hat?

Nope not the hat, the adolescent hair style.

I was watching the Senna movie and noted the interview by Jackie and Senna.

No doubt Jackie was a great contributor to the sport. He will never be ranked among the truly greats (ask the BBC team) respecting racing.

I am being too unkind.

That was the interview I was thinking about.

Stewart did so much for the sport, but sometimes his comments are very much based on his narrow biases.

In any case, notwithstanding his support, endorsement and guidance, the Royal Bank of Scotland has suffered massive casualties. Further it has caused many losses.

He should take his approach to safety in motor car racing to the board of the bank to support financial safety for its constituents.

Of course he could instead support British farmers by endorsing good quality British butter.
