Ferrari has complained to Formula 1 governing body the FIA that the McLaren front wing could be flexing beyond the limits of the technical regulations,

It is believed Ferrari is also unhappy with Red Bull, which was first to be subjected to a flexi-wing debate mid-season in 2010. According to the Italian outfit, the entire front wings of McLaren and Red Bull could be loosening up at high speed.

Typical of F1 these days....

Yep, checking out the competition in the same way they check them out. They have spotted something irregular so why not report it?

But doesn't the article suggest that Mclaren had something in place in Hungary, why wait til now? And why is this the first time we hear anything?

... maybe because they were keeping their tinder dry... by that I mean if the have real information on their rivals wings then best to get it banned later in the season than earlier when they would have time to recover (assuming they would be affected by any ban).

hmmm that is a little too clever even for F1 I think. I am not saying it's beyond Ferrari or Mclaren to do it, but isn't that last years cheat. Would they be so stupid as to try it all on again? Maybe they would. I just get the feeling that with the final run to the title coming up Ferrari are trying to play some mind games.

I am sure there is nothing worse than having the FIA poking around your garage all weekend when you are trying to put in an outside title bid.

I did say maybe, but in F1 mind games are more likely.

Ferrari were trying to copy it. When it didn't work they complained.

Been that way in F1 for years.
