As for Lewis on Sunday, I believe if Jenson had seen him, he would have let him pass.

I believe he would have too but only because the alternative was to have an accident.

The fact that Button's rear wheel made contact with Hamilton's front proves that Hamilton was not, as he claimed, "at least halfway alongside" and was not at any stage in a position to rightfully feel he had done enough to "claim" the corner. As DC put it; if that's Lewis's idea of half I wouldn't want to share my chocolate bar with him.

Yet he didn't back off, he left it up to Jenson to yield or crash. Unluckily for Hamilton Jenson hadn't seen him.

Taking your team-mate out is the cardinal sin in F1 but Lewis was prepared to risk taking both himself and Jenson out of the race. It was only by good fortune that Jenson was able to go on to win the race.

Jenson was very magnanimous in publicly declaring that it was "just one of those things".

McLaren ought to be reeling him in but Whitmarsh is too weak to do so. Lewis clearly feels that the team need him more than he needs them, evidenced by his trying to bring pressure to bear on the team by openly paying a "social visit" to Red Bull.

Quote:

The two spent around 15 minutes chatting and even though it was described as “a social visit” Hamilton’s unusual behaviour will inevitably lead to speculation as to his intentions as well as his mind set.

It is understood that Hamilton arrived unannounced and asked one of the catering staff to fetch Horner.

Bearing in mind that, had he wanted to talk to Horner he could easily have rung him in private, it is safe to assume that Hamilton wanted the world, and more specifically his McLaren team, to know about his visit.

So what prompted it? Hamilton, whose contract expires at the end of 2012, may have been trying to exert pressure on McLaren, using Red Bull as leverage in forthcoming contract negotiations.

If Mclaren can deliver Lewis a car capable of winning the title they may as well dispense with his duties and give it to Button as he seems quite capable of doing the same and more given the equipment.

Ok, so that's from a Button fan. ;)

When was the last time both Toro Rosso's were in the points?

Australia 2009.

Buemi finished 7th and Bordais finished 8th.

Well Jenson is 1 for 2 w/ a title winning car, a better ratio than his teammate.
