Is it just me or is anyone else getting very excited at the prospect of the Canadian race?

In the past the circuit has been a scene of very hard tyre wear as the circuit is high speed and hard braking.

The hairpin especially will become black with the amount of rubber left by the cars.

So tyre wear is going to be very high but on top of this we have KERS and DRS.

This will be the first race to have two DRS zones which will make for the best race this season.

This really is a chance for a smaller team to shine

I do predict that we have a high chance of seeing someone new on the top step of the podium.

I thought 2008 was better. <LOL>

Canada is always a memorable race, but not always because of the racing.

Lewis going for the triple after his controversial Monaco performance will defiantly spice up the weekend. Lets hope the wall claims no victims this race.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm on holiday while it's on, so I'm not going to be able to watch it live.

I'll be close to another F1 track, but not the one with the race.

Given the tire choices and the track type I suspect it will be a McLaren walk. Might be interesting down the order, but I suspect a handy 1-2 for McLaren.

I attended the 2010 Montreal race, sat at the outside of turn 1 (Senna hairpin, oh I hate that the slow bits are named after him) and saw the best race of 2010. The defining technical fact was that the parts of the track that had been subject to breaking up had been uprooted and replaced with a new and different tarmac composition. These sections were highly abrasive and that led to the unusual wear on the pneus.

I don't have the quote handy, but Pirelli said at the time that the pneus made the difference, caused unpredictable wear rates, made t.he race interesting, and that was what they would strive to produce in the 2011 tires for all circuits.

That has been the case so far this year except at Monaco, but I do not know if Montreal will follow suit. Monaco did not, and if I am not mistaken, the Monaco spec tires will be used at Montreal.

I haven't fact checked my comments, so maybe one of you guys could do so. I would appreciate it. <devil>
