The thing is what would MS have done if he'd partnered Jenson at Mercedes this year?

Hey JB gimme that number, it's mine, I own it, I'm supersitious about even numbers, it's only on loan OR what????

As the number change had to be agreed with the team and Nico and possibly the FIA, whether it is at Mercedes GP (2010) or at Brawn GP (2009) is irrelevant as he cannot demand it only request it...

Had Schumacher been at Brawn GP last year with Jenson as Jenson was racing #22 Schumacher would have taken #23 which is an odd number so no problem

.... and of course had MS been at Brawn last season he would have #1 this season...

so again no problem

I think what TCG is saying is, what if Brawn/Mercedes had signed schumacher and kept Jenson for 2010. He would have to race as No.2.

Well if such were the case then he would have 'no option' but to have #2... the point is the situation as it stands currently there is an option to change... I believe I have already posted the 3 team driver number changes that occurred last year... So... it is not a new thing... it is not uncommon and it is not illegal... s no problem.

Well, yeah, there isn't a problem. Anyway, I thought (beyond the WDC) numbers were allotted by the team entry, so it is down to the team who they enter at what number (of the 2 they are allotted from the previous years finishing positions).

This is getting crazy!

<topic>

Do car numbers matter? What's in a number?

For a race car, pigment, maybe some vinyl, adhesive....

Well, it only take one stupid incident by inconsiderate parties to spoilt it for everyone.

Not going to argue again, except to state that I believe you are wrong and that your driver allegence clouds your judgement on this issue. You can't blame RB for merely standing up for himself.
