He's been given number 3. Says he likes odd numbers. I guess he probably hasn't required an even number since his first year in the sport.

From Formula1.com from March 2009:

Quote:

The FIA have issued a revised entry list for the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship, with driver number changes at three teams.

At Ferrari, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen swap numbers, with Massa now taking number 3 in line with his higher position in the 2008 drivers’ championship.

Similarly at Toro Rosso, Sebastien Bourdais’s senior status means he will now take number 11, with rookie team mate Sebastien Buemi numbered 12. Both Ferrari and Toro Rosso requested the changes.

The FIA have also recognised the Brawn GP Formula One Team’s status as a new constructor, dropping them to the base of the entry list with Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello now numbered 20 and 21 respectively.

These things happen <thumbsup>

Well to be accurate he has never completed a single race lap in a even number <blush>

<roflmao>

Guess not. Maybe that's why he doesn't like even numbers.

He's been given number 3. Says he likes odd numbers. I guess he probably hasn't required an even number since his first year in the sport.

As Schumacher has beaten his team mate consistently and having the upper hand within the teams he has been in, default allocation rules have given MS the odd numbers. As "13" is not given to anybody except on special request then normally only drivers leading their teams placed 7th or worse in the WCC in prior year are default the even and not odd car number.

In this case Nico Rosberg was already allocated the number 3 by FIA as no other 2nd driver was yet signed up for Mercedes when FIA allocated numbers around Dec 1st 2009, so Mercedes/Brawn had to ask FIA for this change to be allowed.
Interesting is what Nico might think about all this?
Statistic/history wise it does not look good if he also is an old superstitious stubborn ego-driven guy: :o
Race car number 4 has never led to a world championship so far.
In the entire history of F1, the number 4 car was never driven by an eventual world champion and led only also to 7 race wins over the past 10 years.

1969... Jackie Stewart raced the Tyrrell Matra-Ford MS80 with the #4 at Zandvoort and won... and became WDC that year
