The Mercedes GP team will unveil its new Formula 1 car on 25th January, the German squad revealed on Friday.

The launch will take place at the car maker's museum in Stuttgart.

The car will then run for the first time at the Valencia circuit on 1st February, when this year's pre-season testing will kick off officially.

Yes the Merc team runs as expected like their drivers' Swiss clockwork. :)

Red Bull announced their launch to be later in February quoting they preferred more time with computional design/in windtunnel. So for good or bad, they will miss first test option...

Lotus confirmed launch on 12 February, so likewise missing first test option also.
Lotus do though so far seem most 'on it' of the 4 new teams. They have confirmed two experienced drivers and they have confirmed a launch date which means they must have an almost complete car.

Besides which, the teams all still have the same testing mileage so it could be the case that teams who miss the first test do more running in subsequent ones.
