if he did end up in trucks the worry i would have is that he might get roughed up

The Cup and Nationwide series have done alot to move away from the beating and banging racing that went on in NASCAR up to the mod 90's but the truck series still has a bit of that 'good old boys from the south' feel to it

drivers like Musgrace, Dennis Setzer, Mike Skinner and Todd Bodine only know one way to race and seem to enter every event on a revenge mission against someone, even the more professional drivers like Hornaday wouldn't think twice about putting someone in the wall that pissed them off

Nationwide is the place for Piquet to be, it's alot more professional, many cup team owners also have Nationwide teams and it's where the majority of the young drivers catch the eye

Of course, there is one exception, Dale Jr can punt people off of the track in any series, and it's perfectly fine.

I think Nelson should have gone to IRL rather than NASCAR. The cars/trucks in NASCAR are completely different than anything he's driver before, and the guys he will be going up against have been in the cars pretty much their entire racing career.

He would have been much better off going to IRL, or one of the LeMans series.

He can just about do what ever he wants in NASCAR period. He probably has the biggest genealogical advantage in the history of racing.

IRL (IndyCar) is massively difficult to get into at the moment unless you are a proven driver in that series or have about $5million to bring

that series simply isn't progressing at all at the moment

A Lights drive would be a good place to start but he'd have to dominate that series to even have a chance to get into the big league

it would appear so

they have even changed the bud shootout rules so Jr is eligible

it doesn't matter how much NASCAR seems to be helping Jr though, the fact remains he is probably the most overrated driver ever in motor sport

I was thinking on this, and after a few minutes of deliberation, I cannot disagree.

I have to agree w/ Stradders on this one, especially looking at popularity compared to results.

JPM maybe but JV?

honestly mate you must have mistaken me for someone else on that one because I don't think i've ever said much about JV, i'll stand corrected if you find something but if anything i back him up alot more than i critisise him

i also looked at his entry into NASCAR with a completley open mind unlike JPM who went in with 'i'm going to win everything' type attitude
