from Autosport... "Schumacher's best lap of the day was a 1m24.621s, four tenths slower than the record set by Kamui Kobayashi at the Spanish track in October, 2008" |

That's very impressive, he certainly has not lost his speed, but I am getting slowly used to thinking of him as the opposition now, so hope the best he does is Third behind the Ferrari's

Added to which, that time was set on a cold track, which had only just dried out enough for slick tyres. I cannot find the link from Autosport that Coulthard made at Autosports show, but Coulthard said that he had no doubts at all about Schumacher being very competitive. He did say that obviously at 41 your reactions are invetably slower than at 21 but he had no doubts about Schumachers physical ability to complete the season. He also fired a warning shot to the young guns. He stated "fighting for the apex" with Schumacher "was something else" and they might well have a problem coping with Schumachers hard fighting driving style. And the next post will say, "if you don't give way" I will punt you off the track. Couthard never even implied that. |

If Schumacher never win another GP, I'm not fused... I just can't believe I get to see him racing again, but for his sake I would like a few GP wins at least... As for the 'hard driving' and new drivers... I cannot see Vettel or Hamilton yielding to easily and older hands Alonso, Jenson, Webber and |

Alonso had this to say. "Ferrari's new recruit Fernando Alonso says he is looking forward to renewing his rivalry with seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher in 2010. Schumacher won five world titles with Ferrari but is returning with Mercedes, who, as Brawn, won both titles in 2009. "When Michael left it was not the same beating the others," Alonso, who pipped Schumacher to the 2005 and 2006 titles before he retired, told BBC Sport. "To beat a legend is very motivating. Now he's back it's very special." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport...one/8459061.stm |

Nice sentiment... and of course if Alonso lifts the WDC this year all his titles will have been against Schumacher...
