No.Just happens to have the same name.Totally different company. You can buy McLaren baby buggies. They are not related to the F1 or McLaren cars in any way |

They have one of those too, at Motorland Aragon in Spain. On USF1, what seems to be riling people the most about them is the fact that for a long time over the winter we heard next to nothing from them. While Lotus and Virgin, in particular, were announcing driver contracts and sponsor deals, USF1 were getting on with the job quietly. It's sometimes said that "no news is good news" but in F1, especially now with news agencies like GMM clamouring for lots of news, all the time, a lack of news from a particular team must mean that something is badly wrong. Of course, as Sportsman's post amply demonstrates, USF1 haven't simply been sat around twiddling their thumbs in that time. Campos, too, have been quiet recently but this is no cause for alarm. If Dallara claim that they are up to date with their payments then there is no reason to suggest that they won't make the grid. The team is searching for new investment but this is nothing new. |

The biggest problem in F1 in ill informed F1 hacks, and Bernie Ecclestone flapping their big mouths. And Mickey Mouse websites posting nothing but rumours as facts. And gullible F1 fans believing them. |

very true... but as both the Hass companies are connected to motorsport I thought there might have been a connection... It would a bigger leap to link Maclaren push chairs and McLaren road cars, they are spelt differently for a start... although many car companies do lend their name to none automotive products... IIRC, both Porsche and BMW (to name but two) have design companes that take comissions on all sorts of everyday products, so it is concievable a design devision of McLaren could design a range of pushchairs.

It's the same as McLaren Electronic systems. They are part of the McLaren group of companies. The McLaren group of companies, does have connections with motorsport, not only F1. It is part of the McLaren group. But an entirely seperate company. The same as Rolls Royce engines. They are seperate company to the Rolls Royce car company. But part of the same group. In both of those cases, and many others, they have completely different structure, different directors and are run as as entity in themselves. http://www.mclarenelectronics.com/ |

I stand corrected Your quite right. He was setenced to two years but was released within three months after paying the tax he evaded. Haas Automation is now the largest machine tool manufacturer in the United States. Sales for 2008 reached a record reportedly just under $1 billion worldwide. |

I hope Campos make it. It would be bad for F1 if the culture of big money start ups continued and froze out privateers. Just a couple of inaccuracies in some of the articles posted. Although F1 carbon fibre technology indeed does come from US aviation, little else does. Much of F1 engine and aero technology still comes from europe (with some contribution from the Japanese). |
