That's a fair trip from Woking to repair it if it breaks down.

Reminds me of a time when a friend of mine managed somehow to snap the frame on his Suzuki GSXR. He took it back to the dealer and the following week went back to collect his bike. He asked if they had repaired the frame or if they had replaced it.

"Neither" he was told.

So he asked "How did you fix the snapped frame then?"

"Sir, Frames on Suzukis do NOT snap."

I'm sure too that McLaren super-cars will NOT break down.

Many years ago where my brother in law used to work, the owner of the factory had a new Rolls Royce and it broke down, it would not move.

They (not sure if they are the dealer or Rolls Royce) picked it up by special transport and made sure the care was covered, repaired it, returned it and not wanting any money for the service they provided, they said the same thing, "Rolls Royce's never have engine failure."

Hell, no vehicle is perfect but I suspect that the incidence of failures in McLaren's road cars would be very small. Incidentally, remember the 90s BMW M3 evos with the hand built 3.2L engine? BMW claimed that none had ever broken down. Well, my dads M3 started acting up and the local dealership said that there was a terminal problem with the engine. To avoid bad publicity BMW paid half the cost to replace the engine (£7000) and scrapped the old engine. As it, technically, hadn't failed, their claims still held true, even if it is a little bit like fudging the figures.

Maybe Mclaren reinterpreted the rules regarding the crash test
