I honestly think the guy is going to be very fast and driven. He is not coming back for fun, but to win. Not whatever extra wins he can get on the road to 100, but rather to win. And not just because it would be number 8. Here is a link, and we will see more of this in the next few weeks. Gonna be a great season. http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_5792910,00.html Oh, I also read MS has an option for 2011. Mind you I might have read it in this forum, which means the info would be valueless.

Given all drivers hope to win the WDC, I'm sure that is still a realistic goal even for a seven time champion... but personally I think that unlike a young blade hungry for the title, he would be coming back into F1 because he misses the competing and the joy of racing... he wants to have some fun and while he will want to be competitive, I doubt that he is as bothered about the WDC than say Lewis or Vettel... I'm not saying he does not want it ... just that he will be happy just to be winning |

He wants to win races, he wants to win the WDC, he wants to win the WCC for his team. He is Schumacher. Winning is fun. It is as simple as that. |

Shumi's a mighty competitor, look at the things he has done to win a title, so he will be looking to take the title, or at least be in the running. |

It is a part of his past, as long as he is driving and ha still has any bit of support there will always be that part of his career. Unlike most though I accept that about Shumi because I understand how someone in his position might do the same, although Monaco 06 was way over the top. It's not just Shumi, Senna, Prost have done the same to win titles, and I've seen countless drivers in other series do just as bad or worse trying to keep 6th position. It's just a part of racing, to be successful you need to be not only a great driver but cutthroat at the same time. I believe Jackie Stewart one said Champions are complete bastards because they have to be. |

There's our answer. "Michael Schumacher says he is gunning for the 'serious stuff' of fighting for the world championship on his F1 return in 2010. The seven-time champion has signed a three-year deal to join Mercedes GP for next season, marking an F1 comeback after three years on the sidelines. Although he will be the oldest driver on the grid when the season kicks off in Bahrain, Schumacher said on Wednesday that he is not coming back simply to have fun" http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80653. |
