Well, that and the fact that MS's replacement is hardly coming close to emulating the former champion's achievements

Neither has anyone else, why should Lucca be singled out. <thumbsup>

I wasn't blaming luca, just that those expecting a former 7x world champion will be rather disappointed that Luca is unable to emulate him and thus get bored.

Alonso fastest by a gap that covers the next 13 cars.... anyone not think that was for the sponsors??

<roflmao>

It seems logical, Valencia needs to sell more tickets.

All circuits must be profitable and even Bernie knows that the others must earn money too. If not, that would be the end of the business.

Look at the time mates! 0.7 sec difference, even with fume it's a bl***y good time.
Williams are always on fume. Trying hard? yes off course that's Alonso and he's shaping up for the race not just setting up the car like the rest of the mob. BTW as for the crash it is debatable. Alonso on a fast lap, Heidfeld on a slow one (or is that normal for BMW?) I thought the later should have stay out of the racing line and looking in his mirrors?I didn't find anything funny about Alonso effort or is that a reaction to fear. <cool>

Jack, can you please remove that bug, looks so real my wife asked me a few times to kill it. :)

Actually first I had seen of the collision. I would say racing incident had it happened during a race. Looks like Nick didn't see Alonso at all, but Alonso blew the corner and probably would have been best served to yield to Nick and go another lap. Equal fault.

yeah just like the last race? He lasted how many laps?

Heidfelds fault? Have you seen the smoke coming off Fernando's front tyres?

Sorry your first comment is rather childish and irelevant, specificaly with the comment about his last race.

And for the second comment, I did say it was debatable. The smoke from the tyres is that Alonso was on a fast lap, anyrthing wrong with that? Heidfeld was quite slow and way to the right like entering the boxes and that's exactly what Alonso has said and didn'e expect after that Heidfeld to cut across. If you go slow, you should stay away from the racing line and look in you mirrors. Watch the video once again. Anyway, the stewards have decided it was a racing incident and I am happy with that.

Yeah, looks like a racing (practicing?) incident to me. From Alonso's in-car camera it's obvious why he thought Heidfeld was pulling off into the pits. But maybe a bit more caution was required.

Anyway, was nice and sporting of Fernando to push his front wing out of the way after it had fallen off the car. <roflmao>

It does look that real and it has caught me out a few times. I love it though, please don't remove it.

I wasn't referring to the fact that Alonso had to retire, I was referring to the length of his first run which had him pitting ridiculously early. We've seen Toyota's run like that and we've all had a good laugh at them.

As for the Alonso Heidfeld incident, sure it IS debatable AND it was a practice session. Alonso was needlessly showing off.

I'm not debating his talent. Easily one of if not the best on the grid, but it was an avoidable accident. It was NOT a racing incident, they were not racing.
