Barrichello finsihes on top, followed by both Macs, and then Button. Badoer finishes miles behind the 19th place runner, almost 2.5 secs slower than Kimi, and nearly 3.4 slower than Rubens. Hopefully some more time on track will see him get closer to the pace this afternoon.

1 23 Rubens Barrichello Brawn-Mercedes 1:42.460
2 2 Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes 1:42.636 0.176
3 1 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:42.654 0.194
4 22 Jenson Button Brawn-Mercedes 1:43.074 0.614

There's an article (here) on the BBC where Jenson says that they have spent ages going through all of their setups and changes through the year and that they are pretty certain they know where they went wrong.

Added to that, they've got some new suspension components.

So hopefully they are back in the game <dance> , and by the looks of the practice times it certainly looks better than before the break.

will the new loads on the cars next year due to the refueling ban held Brawn more because of the bigger car and more mass will heat up the tires more? and like wise will Red Ball go backwards because they heat there tires up too much?

but it look like it going in the correct direction for the Brawn team - so far - but looking at the car they do need more logos quick

Looking at Badoer in the Ferrari, it looks like, on first glance, that Hamilton is driving a Ferrari - seeing as they both have distinctive yellow helmets.

Those Mercedes engines are good:

1 23 Rubens Barrichello Brawn-Mercedes 1:42.460
2 2 Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes 1:42.636 0.176
3 1 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:42.654 0.194
4 22 Jenson Button Brawn-Mercedes 1:43.074 0.614
.
6 20 Adrian Sutil Force India-Mercedes 1:43.209 0.749

Is there still an engine freeze in place or did that get blown out of the water last year when Renault complained?
